Common Cause

 https://x.com/koshercockney/status/1917272290279956914?s=51&t=cLq01Oy84YkmYPZ-URIMYw

That so many of the leftists I know are at a minimum making excuses for or justifying this sort of behavior, making common cause with these people, or outright supporting it, tells me that the claims of a moral high ground on the left  might be a bit exaggerated.

For context, let's not forget how the MSM/Left reflexively tries to paint everyone who doesn't agree with them as some sort of "right wing extremist" or to tar the entire conservative movement with the actions of the few J6 protesters.

More context, remember the 2020 Summer of Love and the oft used refrain about "riots" being the "language of the unheard", those are exactly the kinds of bullshit excuses we'll hear for this.  Of course that ignores that in the colonizer/colonized or oppressor/oppressed matrix, it's the Arabs that have a history of colonizing and oppression, and the Arabs that are calling for the extermination of the Jews.

  1. I see your unknown person ("kosher cockney," sounding WAY legit) on X and raise you actual journalistic outfits...

"New York City Mayor Eric Adams said on Sunday that police were investigating a series of incidents that have erupted from clashing pro-Palestinian protests and pro-Israeli counter-protests, including the reported assault on Thursday of two women by a pro-Israeli crowd...

""The NYPD is investigating a series of incidents stemming from clashing protests on Thursday that began when a group of anti-Israel protesters surrounded the Chabad Lubavitch World Headquarters - a Jewish place of worship - in Brooklyn," Adams said on social media

"Initial reports indicate that one female protester was isolated from her group, harassed by counter-protesters and suffered injuries. In another incident, a second woman was surrounded and subjected to vile threatening by counter-protesters,"

Which is not to say that maybe there were some Palestinian supporters who behaved badly, too. The point being is that you are reporting only ONE side and that, without any more legitimate journalistic sourcing.

    1. Because Hamas supporters chanting for a global intifada "protesting" at one of the most sacred Jewish sites in the US (or any place of worship/sanctuary) is perfectly fine. That the Orthodox Jews defended themselves and their place of worship annoys you doesn't surprise me at all.

The lengths you'll go to to excuse Hamas supporters is impressive. Of course, this isn't the first time I've posted about this, and the video is the video, no matter what group posts it.

Given when we've seen over the past 5 years, hell what I've posted over the past few weeks about the MSM reporting lies and sticking with those lies, you desperately clinging to various fictions about the MSM as the only source of Truth or accuracy is somewhere between hilarious and pathetic.

    2. Rather than go through Dan's links only to find that he's wasted my time again, I would prefer he just point to the best of the three which gives actual details and facts which justifies his objections here. His quotes aren't connected to any link in particular, his links are all of poor quality sources...though the attendant "headlines" in each suggest less than that which would put the "accused" in the same category off scumbag as those against whom they were counter-protesting. At this point it seems clear Dan is doing what lefties do, and presuming "reports" of bad behavior by Jews is proof of guilt.

    3. You are correct that it would be better if he did those things.

    4. “The violent provocateurs who called for the genocide of Jews in support of terrorists and terrorism — outside a synagogue, in a Jewish neighborhood, where some of the worst antisemitic violence in American history was perpetrated, and where many residents share deep bonds with the victims of Oct. 7 — did so in order to intimidate, provoke, and instill fear,” Seligson said."

“We condemn the crude language and violence of the small breakaway group of young people; such actions are entirely unacceptable and wholly antithetical to the Torah’s values. The fact that a possibly uninvolved bystander got pulled into the melee further underscores the point,” he said."

Shockingly PBS ignores the fact that the pro-Hamas "protesters" instigated the series of events, yet does note that there was an official response/apology from the Jewish side of things. Strangely, nothing from the pro-Hamas folks.

Let's start by noting that it was (shockingly) the pro-Hamas "protesters" that started the series of events.

"Initial reports indicate that one female protester was isolated from her group, harassed by counter-protesters and suffered injuries. In another incident, a second woman was surrounded and subjected to vile threatening by counter-protesters," he added."

The Reuters piece was short of details and long on referring to (but not linking to) the reporting of others. Which is pretty much what Dan bitches about when I do it.

    6. It seems strange that publicly advocating for a resumption of the Intifada is so widely accepted as appropriate by Dan and his ilk.

  2. ...the point being is that if you ONLY present ONE side of the topic, you are being one-sided. Not adult, reasonable, moral. Morality and justice demand an even-handed look at scenarios, policies and actions.

Those who engage in one-sided analysis are not acting in a rational adult manner. Lacking nuance and understanding, it becomes easier to embrace atrocities.

    1. It's strange that when you present a one sided article from an advocacy group which is clearly biased toward one side or another, that you expect those to be blindly accepted as fact. Yet when I present one article (of many) that falls outside of your approved list of revered journalism practitioners, you pull this bullshit.

The only question needed is whether or not the report accurately describes the facts, and whether or not the video accurately captures the events in question.

    2. Indeed, Craig. It is not at all Dan's custom to present both sides of anything, preferring to push his narrative as beyond debate, then rejecting all attempts by others to present that other side. Doubling down on his dishonesty, he then dares to speak of what "morality and justice" demands, "even-handedness" and "rational adult manner" as if he has any familiarity with any of these things. In the meantime, he embraces atrocities of all kinds while suggesting there's some nuance which is lacking in our understanding.

    3. Occasionally Dan attempts to present other sides of things. Unfortunately he also tends to use caricature, exaggeration and falsehoods when he does so. His sources are all too often advocacy organizations who are biased and have a financial incentive behind what they put out. Which is fine, as long as no one is pretending that those sources are unbiased or that no one is acting like the Truth can only be found i Dan approved places.

  3. Well, the first thing the cops should be doing is ripping those mask/facial coverings off their faces. And why not? They're acting unruly, disturbing the peace and definitely looking for trouble, with either the Jews or the cops.

If one doesn't want exposure, stay home.

They shouldn't complain (assuming it's even true) of being denied passage through Jewish neighborhoods, as if muslims don't seek to harass and chase off Jews in predominantly muslim neighborhoods. Some in the black community also have animosity for Jews.

    1. Absolutely. That these cowards hide behind masks reinforces the cowardice of the left. What possible reason, other than to hide one's identity would posses one to "protest" with their entire face covered? Because obviously "protesting" at or near a house of worship is perfectly acceptable for the left. Hell, they do shit at RC churches regularly. Why not hit the Jews houses of worship as well.

Note the hypocrisy that when it comes to ICE looking for illegal aliens, "sanctuary" must be absolutely respected. When it comes to pro-Hamas or pro-abortion protests, there's nothing stopping them from invading "sanctuary".

Muslims and pro-Hamas protesters regularly deny Jews passage through public areas (college campuses) as well as entry into Muslim countries and no one on the left complains. But if Jewish citizens want to protect a place they consider very holy, they should not be allowed to do so.

    2. You'll note that Dan doesn't really say anything negative about the pro-Hamas "protesters", which reinforces my suspicion that folx like Dan are making common cause with the pro-Hamas groups.

It's strange that he's making common cause with the pro-conquest, pro-colonization, pro-oppression side of things.

    3. Well, his moral equivalency doesn't work as well when criticizing actual evil.

    4. It doesn't work that well period. Especially as his criticisms of "evil" are usually so vague and tepid with as many excuses as possible.
