This guy is probably pretty close to exactly right. The ASPL doesn’t want humane, nonviolent deportations. They want zero deportations. We have thousands of humane/non violent deportations happening daily but all the ASPL whine about are a few that go wrong (ignoring why). They want to ignore the millions of humane/non violent deportations under P-BO, because that doesn’t fit the narrative.
I believe their deafening silence in their opposition to Obama's deportation supports my belief that the DMPs don't give a flying rat's patoot about illegals getting deported at all. Note how the focus currently is still on the most criminal of them, and the DMPs think they can convince me they care? Nonsense. The issue here is TDS.
ReplyDeleteI will concede this much: among those protesting now, as was the case with the same crowd of know-nothings protesting against Israel after the Hamas slaughter of Israeli citizens on October 7, 2023, or the Gazans killed in their role as human shields to protect Hamas, there are those who have been brainwashed to believe joining the activists is fighting the good fight, rather than what it is: breaking the law because Trump is connected to the enforcement of it, and thus allowing fellow citizens to suffer by denying illegals their just consequences.
Trump could be flying them out of the country on luxury planes and giving them free luxury housing and they'd still be complaining.
DeleteAs I've said before, it's mostly a bunch of people who are convinced that a FB post makes them part of the struggle, who are cheering on those who are actually engaged in the violence. They want the cachet of protesting, but without the potential consequences of protesting.
The '60s protesters sat and took dogs, fire hoses, beatings, forks up the nose, and even death, because they knew that there was no other choice to give their movement a moral high ground. No masks, no shields, no weapons, no riots, no arson, and they got (sort of) what they wanted. This newer crowd doesn't have the patience for that kind of thing, they want results and they want them now. Much like Dan wants to rush to judgement.
