I'm not saying that anything past the first sentence is true, but I sure seems to fit the growing trend of silence when any sort of shooting or other attack doesn't fit a particular narrative.

Wait a minute! I can't see a friend of the people withholding relevant information like that, especially when they are quick to refer to a criminal's right-wing leanings...even when they don't really have them!
There are plenty of other situations when certain characteristics are withheld from publicizing by the media for reasons other than protecting the innocent.
