Why am I not surprised to hear that DFL city leaders engaged in a racist converstaion.

Because you're inclined to think the worst of your fellow citizens who are more progressive than you?

For my part, I'm not surprised. Racism is pretty strongly baked into our system, even amongst Democrats.

But you'll note that there has been nothing but criticism from the Left for this and calls for these people to resign.

Good.

The real question is why don't conservatives/the GOP call for removal of people on their side who make racist commentary? Where are the conservatives with a voice against racism?

This is simply not True in any way shape or form. What this is pointing out is that all those who continually harp on the canard that those on the "right" are "racist etc", need to look a little closer to home before throwing out broad generalizations. I'd be shocked if you could find actual quotes of "right wing" elected officials saying these sorts of things. What's interesting is that you don't lead with condemning these people, you don't even specifically condemn these individuals, you simply blather about "systemic racism" and the like. Continuing to ignore the reality that when liberals control the "systems" that are "systemically racist" then they bear the responsibility for that "systemic racism". Especially where the left has been in control of these "systemically racist" institutions for decades.

"But you'll note that there has been nothing but criticism from the Left for this and calls for these people to resign."

I'll note that I haven't seen any of the leftist people or news orgs that I follow jump on these people in any significant way. Certainly not to the level that they'd jump on someone on the "right" for something less egregious. But to the extent it's happened, or been forced to happen, it's something.

In the absence of specific examples, I don't feel as if commenting on this broad, unsupported allegation does anything buy give this unsupported claim more credence than it deserves. I'll note that the fact that you are unaware of something doesn't mean it doesn't exist.

"Where are the conservatives with a voice against racism?"

Everywhere, you just don't like the way they express themselves.

Demokrats are the party of racism. Anyone who studies history would know that. The facts are there for anyone who wants truth.

One other thing, I cannot get the link without paying. What was said that was racist?

There's a huge difference between actual racism which has always been more common from the left, as we can even see with two particular leftists who pretend to champion the black cause, versus a projection of racism upon those who speak strictly in terms of facts and evidence which don't flatter too many in the black community.

Put another way, the left IS racist and the right is not. The white guilt of the left IS justified, the white "privilege" of the right is fiction. Racism is the original identity politics and the left is all about identity politics.

Glenn,

Yes the history of the DFL is indeed problematic. Google LA City council racist remarks and there are plenty of stories.

I found some and I find the whole thing to be quite amusing.

It would be amusing if it wasn't so tragic. The DFL has managed to convince a significant part of the voting population that failing to vote for them will result in racists being elected, all while actually being racist themselves. Unfortunately LBJ was right (and racist) about how to manipulate certain demographics of voters.
