This is a good article on the irony of the current countries, which historically were an enthusiastic and major participant in the global slave trade, demanding reparations from those who bought the slaves that they sold.

The major problem with reparations is that no one who was affected is alive today and no one who owned them is alive today. IF anyone was to pay reparations it would have to be those who SOLD the people into slavery, not those who purchased.
We can always count on Wilfred to provide. Great article.
That is one problem. The other is calculating the value of the hundreds of thousands of lives lost by the Union, the millions of dollars of destruction resulting from the war, and the 40 acres and a mule reparations and figuring out how that affects the current situation. We could also compare the relative wealth of those who ended up in the US, and those who stayed in Africa. Why it's only the US, not England, Brazil, France, and Islam that are hit up for reparations is beyond me.
He's very good at this stuff. His last book was great.
