This is how bad things have gotten up here. A couple of weeks ago there was a large shooting incident at a local church. Somali gangs got into a firefight in a church parking lot in the evening. The suburb where this happened is one of the wealthiest in the area and definitely not one with a large crime problem. So the response to this incident is to hold a town hall to discuss how to proceed. Originally the town hall was to be held at the church where the incident happened. Unfortunately, due to the inability of EPD to secure the location, they've moved the town hall to a Zoom meeting. How bad have things gotten when it's impossible to hold a town hall at a church due to threats of violence from Somali gangs or others. Not to mention the ineffectiveness/incompetence of the police who can't secure a single location for a few hours.
