 One of the big achievements of Trump 1.0 was his nomination of SCOTUS justices.   Yet Amy Coney Barrett just signed on to the ruling that might negatively effect Trump's ability to suspend aid payments.  Why this is especially problematic is that it appears to be a clear violation of the separation of powers doctrine.  The notion that SCOTUS can prevent the Executive branch from engaging in it's lawful, normal conduct is troubling to say the least.   

To be fair Barret wasn't the only one who voted poorly, and Roberts has always leaned to the left more that you'd expect from someone nominated by a republican.  

Fortunately, the ruling might not be as devastating as it seemed and could be worked around by rewriting the EO.

 For years it's been drilled into me that one of the foundational, bedrock, commitments of the APL is the commitment to pacifism. That pacifism was almost required to be a progressive. Yet we've now seen an almost complete switch and we now have the APL demanding more war, more weapons, more fighting, and more death/destruction. That seems strange to me. It's also amusing to see the Domino Theory gain so much credibility among the APL after deriding it back in the '60s.

If McCaul is engaged in insider trading based on information he gets due to his office, then he should be defeated at his next election (at a MINIMUM), if not prosecuted or face congressional punishment.   I know Pelosi is the poster child for this sort of thing, but this should be a non partisan issue and ethics laws/rules should prevent insider trading by those in public office.

Slavery was intricately woven into the cultures of the day, so, as with divorce (neither being the situation God desired), Yet God also made rules to keep the evil of the practice to a minimum. For example, if you kidnapped someone and made him a slave, you were put to death. If a slave escaped from his master for whatever reason, you were not allowed to return him. If you harmed so much as a tooth of your slave, you had to let him go free—in other words, no person was allowed to keep a slave if he mistreated him or her. Slavery in Western countries would never even have gotten off the ground had these rules been followed; the first rule alone would have prevented it. God regulated divorce, and yet He explicitly said He hates it, so the regulation of the practice did not mean He condoned it. Therefore, one cannot assume that God’s regulation of slavery meant God condoned slavery."
