Gerrymandering 101

"@RepJeffries , I have a quick civics lesson for you, and I am going to need you to sit with this one. The word "gerrymander" is not named after Donald Trump. It is not named after Ron DeSantis. It is named after Governor Elbridge Gerry -- a Democratic-Republican -- who in 1812 carved Massachusetts senate districts into shapes so grotesque that the Boston Gazette compared one to a salamander and named the practice after HIM. The Democratic-Republican Party. You know -- the direct ancestor of YOUR party. Democrats did not defeat a gerrymandering scheme tonight. Democrats defended the tradition their own party INVENTED, named, and has been running for 213 years. "Maximum warfare, everywhere, all the time" -- from the man whose party literally put their leader's name on the word for election manipulation. The projection is so consistent it qualifies as a renewable energy source. Quinn's Law #2, for those keeping score at home: whatever liberals accuse conservatives of doing is precisely what they are already doing themselves. @RepJeffries did not just illustrate that law tonight. He BECAME it. He is the law now. Walking around. With checkmarks. But what do I know -- I am only a science teacher who knows that when you name something after yourself, you own it." FYI, the VA gerrymander attempt will very likely be caught up in court challenges for multiple issues until long after the midterms, and likely after 2028 elections"
