Off Season

Well Art, y'all got a Chiefs interior lineman anyway.    He'll be missed, and the trade sucked, but it was probably good to move on from a high cap hit older lineman.

Wow! I hadn't heard that until just now, and then went and looked up what the "Bears News" had to say about it. It comes as good news, with the only downside being his age and whether he can remain healthy. But to shore up the line now with a Pro-Bowler while developing younger talent is a good thing on which to gamble. There's also an agreement to pick up guard Jonah Jackson from the Rams, who, by the way it was mentioned in the article I saw, is also a Pro-Bowler. Maybe this means we can keep Williams' sack total below 60 next year!

On a side note, the new HC is expecting...if not demanding...that Williams and his three main targets (Moore, Odunze and Kmet) get together ASAP, even before official training camp gatherings to develop rapport.

Now, what remains is (aside from more O-line help) and edge rusher and what Johnson is going to do about our running back situation.

Hope springs eternal!

He's definitely been good, but he's getting old and I can see why they chose to trade him. Hopefully he'll be a bridge guy until someone better is available.
