This is pretty important. Much like Europe put the brakes on the wholesale "transing" of children long before the US even considered it, we are now seeing European countries get real about the effects of immigration and be honest about the outcomes.

I've heard variations of this for a while now, but it totally makes sense. For some reason PBS (that paragon of unbiased, evenhanded, real journalism) aired a program about Thomas Jefferson and Muslims. Inexplicably they left out the one actual piece of evidence of what Jefferson's experience with Muslims was. Wouldn't want to upset the narrative about Islam.

I gave away a book I should have kept but it had a court case from early 1800s in which the judge said that Muslims shouldn’t even be “countenanced” in the USA. Yet our politicians never learn from history—nor do the rest of the populace because the colleges promote Islam as good guys and Israel as evil.
I saw that news about the lawyers defending the rapist based on cultural differences! I’d like to see the law return to executing rapists.

I'd have to see the details of the ruling before drawing a conclusion. It is clear that there is a level of the federal judiciary that has an outsized view of their role in the scheme of things and that needs to be reigned in somehow.
Jefferson was clearly not a fan of the ones he interacted with.
Yeah, the "cultural differences" defense is quite novel. Remember when ignorance of the law was no excuse. I do agree that rape, especially multiple rapes of rapes of children, should qualify for the death penalty.
Not to pretend that our current system if health care is perfect or anything, but turning health insurance over to the people who operate the DMV seems like s bad plan. Especially with what we see in Canada and the UK. Remember when the ASPL told us that "Death Panels" was something we didn't need to worry about? Well Canada essentially has them right now and they see it as a way to save costs.
Maher has always been insufferable, but of late he's coming around on some of the idiotic excesses of the DFL. He got owned in this clip, but he's actually sounded almost sane quite a bit recently. He realizes that the current DFL trajectory is guaranteed to lose.
Let's hope that he uses the platform he has for good.
