This is exactly right. If he changed his name and source, he'd be protected.

The double standard is beyond comprehension.

So, we have a "pedophile" (by Dan's definition) who raped and impregnated a 13 year old with no consequences from the NBA.

I had heard about this firing right before they played San Antonio two games ago. I couldn't stop thinking about what a cowardly act it was to dismiss this kid over this. The next game was against Indiana and I didn't watch. They just tipped off against the Knicks a little over twenty minutes ago as I write this and I'm not sure I'll be paying much attention. Not sure yet.
First of all, what chaps my ass is that they suck enough as it is. That said, I've been hearing all manner of crap about his proselytizing when he should be conducting team business...asking everyone if they're saved, turning post game interviews and injury update interviews to Christian talk. That's annoying to me and I love talking about Jesus! But to interfere with work/employment is not appropriate for a Christ follower and there's a time and place for everything under heaven.
The kid has a sketchy history, including spousal abuse. But that's prior to his coming to Christ and is typical of many, now he can't shut up about it. I get it. I knew a guy like that who was zealous to say the least right after he came to Christ. He calmed down after a time, but wow...it was annoying.
So with this kid, his emotional issues, compounded by his zealotry, created a bit of problem for his previous and current team. But it took this little Instagram post to be the last straw? Really? Not buying it. I think were it not for his faith, they'd have suffered worse without bouncing him, as the list of hypocrisies clearly demonstrate.
I get my Bulls/Bears/FoxNews fix (and other Chgo sports) via an IPTV service. When watching the Bulls via NBA network, I don't get but about 2% of the commercials and instead get all the goings on at the stadium when commercials are normally shown on TV. All the games, demonstrations, cheerleader dancing, etc....even the half-time show. When "Pride Night" comes, it's really disgusting seeing all the prancing. I simply don't watch that game. (I had checked in to see just how bad it might be and this time the Bulls exceeded expectations!) Who the hell comes to the game and wants to see that shit? At best, 3% of the fan base. Maybe. THAT is detrimental to the team.
As noted, both the Bulls and the NBA let way worse than this slide.
The proselytizing is easy to regulate. There's no way it wasn't solely his rebuke of their pro-perv celebrations which did it, and it's rank cowardice. Fear of the pervert. True homophobia.
When actual criminals don’t get this treatment, it’s clear that this is simply prejudice.
