Somewhere Between Rumor And News

We'll see how this shakes out, but I keep seeing reports that E Jean Carroll made up her accusations against Trump and got paid $10,000,000 from the DNC.   It's too early to jump to conclusions, but if this is True it'll be one more of the accusations against Trump to go down in flames.

I hadn't heard this. But I haven't forgotten the charge that her story closely tracked an episode of Law and Order, so maybe she was fed that "script" without knowing about the episode. Also, I recall hearing that she named two other really rich dudes who supposedly made moves on her, yet never responded to those guys with lawsuits, which I found to be curious.

When Dan has no substance, he resorts to this crap. I was quite clear that this was somewhere between rumor and News (except it'll never be news because it goes against the narrative).

Clearly it's simply easier to lie.

Who knows. It will be interesting to see if it turns into something.

It's worth noting how many of the "cases" against Trump have fallen apart or ended up being nothing even though folx like Dan jump on every rumor or conspiracy theory that makes Trump look bad.

Why do you think the biblical witness is so strongly opposed to spreading rumors and gossip?

In short, because YHWH is Truth. Truth is important. Truth is critical.

Calling someone a racist, pedophile, rapist, etc as if those things were True is a problem.

Pointing out that some sources are reporting that one more attack on Trump might have been false is to point out that a previous claim that was made by someone might not have been True.

If these reports are True, it's news. If these reports are not True, I'll apologize for commenting prematurely.

But, let's remember how many of the "rumors/gossip/conspiracy theories/accusations/claims about Trump have ended up being false, and how many of those you gleefully pass/passed on on various public forums.

As your first comment contains so much that is false, it seem incongruous at best to see you now defending Truth.

If I was posting this claiming that it was True, you'd have a case. I'm accurately describing what I've heard and seen from multiple outlets, and I'm accurately pointing out that it hasn't been proven to be True as of yet.

But nice try.

? I don't think you understand how rumors work.

Strangely enough, I’m pretty sure your understanding of how rumors work is limited to bitching about other people.

The strange thing about information is that it generally doesn’t get investigated until people know enough to start investigating.

That seems to be where we are right now.

If Carroll was paid to make a false accusation against Trump surely even you could acknowledge the wrong that would have been done. But it’s probably better to ignore these reports so you can continue to call Trump a rapist.

Someone who is as wrong with such incredible regularity as Dan should probably say as little as possible.

The amount of wrong in his first comment on this thread alone makes that point very well.
