And We Thought Little Mogadishu Was Bad

 https://www.cbsnews.com/detroit/news/complaint-dearborn-mosque-noise-call-to-prayer/

So, after over 10 years in construction I learned that virtually every municipality has  restrictions on loud noises during certain hours of the day.   Likewise, when my mom used to play the bells at our church, we decided to be good neighbors by limiting the hours that they were played.  At some point, these things boil down to common courtesy.  Something that Muslims in power (or those trying to get into power) seem to have very little of.   There doesn't seem to be any argument that the broadcasts violate the local noise ordinances, yet they continue and non Muslims are essentially told to "F Off".    One obvious solution for this problem is a reasonably accurate scoped rifle.   It seems like it'd be pretty easy to take the speakers out and solve this problem.    What's crazy is that there would be more outcry against someone who solved a problem that the government refuses to solve, that at the problem that was solved.

That the ASPL silently watches and encourages these little outposts of Sharia, and oppression, tell the rest of us so much about them.    The leaders of Dearborne, Hamtramck, and other places have been quite clear.   They believe themselves to be the vanguard of Islam replacing US civil and crimnial law with Sharia.

Full Faith and Credit

 https://ocpathink.org/post/independent-journalism/no-name-given-oklahoma-nabs-125-illegal-immigrant-drivers

Nahhhhhhhhhhhhh.   If someone can't provide their actual name on an official government issued ID, they should not qualify for that ID.   As someone who got my Real ID, because it was required, there is no way to have met the requirements without providing proof of identity.  How can the notion of Full Faith and Credit be taken seriously?

Illegal aliens can't and don't vote, yet reality begs do differ.  We were also assured that illegal aliens can't and don't get programs like Medicaid.   Yet the reality that the DFL is ready to shut down the government over taxpayer funded health insurance for illegal aliens, would seem to make that claim false as well.

Carnage

I'm not going to invest a lot of time right now about the carnage from last weekend.

Violence is bad no matter who or why it happens.  There will likely be a lot of focus on the MI shooter at the expense of the regular carnage that we see.   At this point, we simply don't know enough about motivation or anything else to get too involved in motives.

How about we don't focus so much on blame for the high profile incident, that we ignore all of the rest.

The Left is Incoherent

 https://www.nbcnews.com/news/us-news/ice-arrests-ian-roberts-superintendent-iowa-des-moines-public-schools-rcna234013

So, this fine upstanding gentleman came to the US illegally, overstayed his Visa, did not have the proper documentation to work in the US, and had been charged with illegally possessing a gun.

Strangely enough, the ASPL is supporting him.   He's engaged in years of violating US law, lied on at least one job application, and  potentially lied about his CV, which doesn't seem to bother the ASPL.   Hell they don't even care about the illegal possession of a gun.

Ship him out immediately.

This is an excellent bit on conjecture.  Much like the extreme positions (and bad candidates)  adopted by the DFL and their national candidates which paved the way for Trump, the fact that the academy has virtually driven away any conservative voices on college/university campuses (campi?), sowed and fertilized the seeds that sprouted TPUSA.    Then the demonization of TPUSA and Kirk, obviously led to Kirk's assassination.

I was going to talk about this again at some point, but I'll let Maher bring it up.

The utter silence of the West in general, and the ASPL and progressive christians in particular about the literal genocide in Africa (among other places) is disgusting.  The overreaction to what's happening in Gaza, and the responsibility of Hamas,  combined with the silence on Africa suggests that the ASPL/MSM really doesn't care a lot abut "genocide" as much as they want to bash Israel.

 https://x.com/radiogenoa/status/1971537681038631215?s=51&t=cLq01Oy84YkmYPZ-URIMYw

Personally, I think that the reason that American progressive christians  don't seem to give a shit about this genocide is because the African Christians are not first world progressives like they are, and the American progressive christians would just as soon see few "conservative" Christians if possible.

The other problem with this genocide is that it screws up the Marxist derived narrative about oppressors and oppressed.   The ASPL desperately wants to cast Islam as oppressed, which means that they are forced to ignore the reality that Islam is the oppressor in the countries they control.   They are publicly announcing that they plan to become the oppressors as soon as the take over Europe and the US.   But, the ignorant ASPL simply pretend that history isn't important, and only focus on Gaza while ignoring the rest of the world.   What's hilarious is that the Gaza narrative is bullshit.  Hamas desperately wants to oppress Israel and it's own people, but they suck at it and are in the FO portion of FAFO.   They aren't being oppressed, their attempted oppression is being defended against.

"Queer Theory has three major problems with the idea of childhood innocence, two of which it states in theoretical jargon and one that lurks as a perverse motivation, hinted at but rarely (or never) explicitly stated. 1) Queer Theory views childhood innocence as a harmful social construction Of course the critical constructivist ideology of Queer Theory would see childhood innocence not as something good and necessary to preserve to the best of our ability but instead as a harmful social construct used by powerful interests to maintain existing power dynamics (including "capitalist" production). The argument from inside their camp is that we have erected this idea of childhood innocence to shield children from "queer" influences so that they can be "straightened out" by society (yes, real quote). Childhood innocence is therefore presented as a kind of ruse that people appeal to in order to create time and space for "cisheteronormativity" and "normalcy" to take root in the child and socially condition him to be "normal" instead of "queer." This "construction" of childhood innocence is regarded as harmful particularly to allegedly vulnerable "LGBTQ" youth because it suppresses and hides their true nature while forcing them to adopt a gender-sexual "performance" that not only stifles them and "invalidates their being" but that also limits the "queer futurity" of their possible later life outcomes (like being a freak, pervert, or drag queen). Worse, by getting children to adopt these gender-sexual "performances" through "straightening them out" in the artificial space called "childhood innocence," they become agents of the "normal" status quo, including "cisheteronormative" modes and attendant "homophobia" and "transphobia," which they then help to socially impress upon others. That is, not only are they oppressed but are turned into agents of oppression. Childhood innocence is framed as a construction that makes this "straight socialization" happen. This view is actually fundamentally Queer Gnostic. The underlying belief, which is openly stated in many papers and books, is that all children are intrinsically "queer," but "normative" society straightens them out, thus alienating them from their true socio-spiritual selves. Trans people and drag queens are regarded as "sacred" in this ideology because they're viewed as having awakened to their true selves and taken steps toward manifesting them in being, which is also a social process, not just a personal journey. They're awakened Elect who are helping others see how to break free from the prison of normal Being, so roughly the equivalent of the Buddhist Bodhisattvas. 2) Queer Theory views childhood innocence as a narrative that upholds gender-sexual injustice In addition to the above insanity, Queer Theory regards childhood innocence as the site of yet another oppressor/oppressed conflict. In short, some kinds get childhoods where their innocence is more or less protected while others don't because of bad circumstances (in any variety of form, not just sexual exposure or abuse). Of course, these "bad circumstances" are all presented as being more significant or "co-constituted" with everything else Queer Marxist types hate: income level, racial biases, Christian belief, and so on. Roughly, they allege that children of wealthy, white, Christian, successful, professional, well-adjusted, etc., parents are more likely to have the "privilege" of experiencing a shielded, innocent childhood as compared to their peers in other domains. "LGBTQ" youth are also, for example, held out as an example of children who cannot have a truly innocent childhood like their "straightened" peers because the very facts of their sexuality or "gender identity" disorder forces them to confront topics outside of the normal bubble of childhood innocence in a way other children are shielded from. This particular view gets really twisted. On the one hand, the line in Queer Theory is simply that childhood innocence is therefore unjust and needs to be abolished or "reimagined," which is bad enough. But it gets worse. Because of course it does. Drawing from the widespread and horrifying (and illegal) practice of sexual abuse of minors as a kind of "initiation" for gay youth, some corners of Queer Theory take up the idea that such "initiations" are actually a good thing rather than an unbelievable evil (pure moral inversion). Their conclusion is that initiating all kids into sexual materials and even practices is likewise "beneficial" and to be encouraged. As a result, though not as the worst result, the International Planned Parenthood Federation (IPPF) scripts both "sexual citizenship" and "pleasure" into its seven pillars of Comprehensive Sexuality Education (CSE, just like Childhood Sexual Exploitation). The pornographic books and even instruction about or on masturbation are all downstream from this inversion. Eve Kosofsky Sedgwick, in her landmark Queer Theory text called The Epistemology of the Closet (1990) argues that our world is, in fact, overwhelmingly socially constructed in "binaries" and lists about thirty or so of them. One that sticks out among them is "innocence versus initiation." This is core Queer Theory stuff. 3) Queer Theory is never very far away from the hidden motivation of wanting to sexually abuse children (wording chosen carefully and euphemistically: groom, diddle, f-ck, r-pe, etc., are more apropos) Through a million different channels throughout their literature, many, if not most, documents in Queer Theory at least hint at a darker underlying motivation, which is wanting to have sex with minors. Whether it's: Defending "boylovers" (as did Gayle Rubin in 1984 in the first paper deemed as Queer Theory), Hinting that children can and should be "very naughty" (as did David Halperin in 1995 in the book defining Queer Theory), Insisting, as above, that sexual initiation is a normal and healthy part of development that is blocked by childhood innocence, Arguing virtually endlessly about abolishing the age of consent (or even childhood innocence), as did the known "boylover" Michel Foucault, who is in many respects considered the Godfather of Queer Theory (David Halperin actually designates him the patron saint of Queer Theory in the above-mentioned book), Trying to disguise pedophiles as "MAPs (minor-attracted persons) and to normalize them or frame them as an oppressed sexual minority, Looking to add the "P" to the infamous acronym (it's currently in the + already anyway), Or so many other possibilities, Queer Theory is never very far away from pedophilia. Never. It never properly denounces the idea. It alludes to it or makes open defenses of it shockingly often. Unlike the direct assaults on childhood innocence on theoretical grounds discussed above, the fact is that this motivation is always peeking through between the lines and is likely a primary motivation, while the above explanations are likely trash theoretical rationalizations (though we can't ever fully rule out that some of these people are just insane as a result of believing their theory too deeply for too long). Queer Theory is and always has been a problem. This is not new. This has been developing for decades, not years, at least since the 1960s. Here's a podcast I recorded back in 2021 reading directly from a paper that blames childhood innocence for ruining children's "queer futurity" (possibilities of being "Queer" in the future). newdiscourses.com/2021/11/groome We should regard this as an admission on their part that preserving and protecting childhood innocence is exactly what we all know it is: a crucially important safeguard for children against the darkest evils of this world."

Given Dan's insistence that children are born pure as the wind driven snow, and are 100% free from Sin, you'd think that he'd object to anything intended to reduce or eliminate "childhood innocence".

 https://www.thomasmoresociety.org/news/justice-denied-alvin-bragg-fails-to-prosecute-violent-attack-against-pro-lifer

Literally irrefutable video evidence, no question of the facts of the crime because the perpetrator was clearly stupid.   Yet somehow the charges against this woman were magically dismissed by Alvin Bragg.   Brag invents felonies to charge conservatives with, dismisses felony charges against liberals.

Impeach him or vote him the hell out.

This explains so much.

It explains and confirms that Bragg is clearly engaged in using his office to push a political agenda.

It explains (at least partially) why the statistics on left wing political violence are skewed.

It explains why certain people cannot receive justice in certain jurisdictions.

I see that there will be a civil suit, as there should be, but this is a great example of why prosecutors should be liable for their actions.

Those who run the DFL and the leftists with the most power, have clearly pushed the DFL so far to the left that they've left behind the "center/left" voters.    Those voters have become more and more marginalized, and are left with two choices.  Sit out, or vote GOP.

I've said this for a while now.  The DFL has no unifying principles, they are merely a coalition of groups that have (in many cases) diametrically opposed views.   The DFL then pretends that each group is the focus of their policies, and DFL voters don't seem to care that they don't get what that thought they were getting.

It's All Good

 https://journals.sagepub.com/doi/10.1177/30333717251375994

A new peer-reviewed paper in the American Sociological Association's official journal Sex & Sexualities calls for the elimination of the idea of childhood sexual innocence and the social/ethical taboos against children engaging in sex acts.🚩 The authors lament that most scholarship "marginalizes childhood sexual pleasure" and views children as “vulnerable subjects." They argue that we must "interrogate dominant narratives of sexual innocence that suppress young people's desires" and instead recognize how children "negotiate pleasure and meaning amid intersecting hierarchies of age, race, gender, and class." They reject what they call "adult-centric/adultist approaches to sexualities" and insist that "childhood pleasure is indispensable for an inclusive sociology and just sexual futures." It is hard to read this as anything other than laying the intellectual groundwork for dismantling age-of-consent protections. The central theme of the paper is "pleasure." This aligns with trends in international sex education policy, particularly the International Planned Parenthood Federation's Comprehensive Sexuality Education (CSE) program, which explicitly shifted away from sex education centered around reproduction and toward what it calls "sexual expression, sexual fulfillment, and pleasure." Pleasure is one of seven core elements of CSE. Its Youth Policy, applying to "all young people irrespective of their age," declares a "right to pleasure" and "the right of all young people to enjoy sex and express their sexuality in the way that they choose." It is therefore no surprise that the paper's authors frame the very notion of childhood sexual innocence as a barrier to progress. They are saddened that "preadolescent children's erotic capacities are routinely pathologized." They argue that the "notion of childhood sexual innocence" is a harmful social construct that wrongly portrays children as "vulnerable to and in need of protection from sexuality." In their telling, "operating from the presumption of innate (sexual) innocence" leads scholars and the public to "overlook children's everyday pleasures" and attempt to "banish childhood sexuality altogether." They even go so far as to describe childhood sexual innocence as a "colonial fiction." The fact that such arguments now appear in a flagship journal of the American Sociological Association should alarm everyone. As we repeatedly see, what begins as abstract theorizing in niche corners of academia rarely stays there. It trickles down into education, policy, and culture. Read my full, in-depth write up of this paper below. 🔗https://www.realityslaststand.com/p/sociology-journals-are-normalizing

Absolutely nothing to see here, at all. Why would anyone be concerned to hear that normalizing childhood sexual pleasure is a thing?

For all of the folx bitching that the right is the side that's all violent and stuff, this seems problematic.   While it might be protected, it is heinous and vile and every one on the left with a modicum of good sense should absolutely decry this immediately.

While I appreciate the honesty, and hope that this shifts the focus to the growing problem,  I'll not that this is limited to "terrorism" and for some reason excludes the left wing terrorism in the '60s and '70s.  Is it safe to say the "terrorism" is worse than simply "violence"?

 https://www.theatlantic.com/politics/archive/2025/09/charlie-kirk-left-wing-terrorism/684323/

If this is accurate, and a quick bit of research suggests that it is, then the whole ASPL narrative just got blown out of the water.  The fact that it was hysterical and based on exaggerating what Trump and Kennedy said is something else entirely.

MPLS, a Little SLice of Heaven Right Here on Earth

 https://www.fox9.com/news/charlie-kirk-turning-point-usa-minnesota

"The University of Minnesota plans to increase security for the event, with U of M President Rebecca Cunningham saying last Thursday, "In addition to the exceptional services our Department of Public Safety oversees every day, the University has policies in place to identify event safety needs and recommend appropriate plans that aim to keep everyone in attendance safe."

The obvious questions that should be asked are why?  Who is this extra security intended to stop?  People of what political persuasion would be interested in disruption a TPUSA event?

 https://kstp.com/kstp-news/local-news/dinkytown-shooting-injures-1-no-arrests/

What, I'm shocked!   There was another shooting in MPLS the day before the TPUSA event.   Is that why they increased security?   Because of an increase in shootings in MPLS?

I can't keep track of the shootings/mass shootings just in MPLS in September of 2025.

These are probably not all of the shootings/mass shootings in September.   This list also doesn't include the multiple mass shootings in late August either.

As the citizens of MPLS prepare to vote for a new mayor soon, let's consider the one choice is the current mayor who's presided over this recent carnage, as well as multiple riots over the past 5-6 years.  The other choice is an immigrant of Somali descent who only got the DFL endorsement due to fraud.

Excellent choices.

Unfortunately I can't find any evidence that there is a GOP candidate even running for mayor.  Of course, why bother.

It's doubtful that Dan will watch these, and likely that he'll complain that these people are being made fun of.   To which I say that they chose to walk up to a mic and dialogue with someone who's got his shit together and they chose to act like morons.  Of course we should make fun of them.  They are the poster children for why college should not be for everyone.

What, "We dint do nuffin".   The Ohio DFL was giving away buttons at a fair that said "Is he dead yet?", but that's not inflammatory or inappropriate.

the DFL seems determined to drive away more and more potential voters for crap like this.

Oxford University's new Union president calls the right "cancers that must be removed by any means".   But it's the right that's calling for violence.   I doubt Dan'll watch any of this crap and if he does, he'll likely make excuses for the behavior.

Data to ignore.

Limited Sample Size

I'm sensing a trend with Dan.  He tends to artificially limit the sample size of what he offers for "proof" of something as if cherry picking a small sample somehow erases the entirety of his posts and comments.

For example "how it's literally not found in Jesus' sermons", is an excellent example of manipulating "data".   That Dan arbitrarily excludes anything Jesus might have said that is not part of a "sermon" from consideration seems like imposing arbitrary limits on how Jesus communicated.   For example, the entire Upper Room discourse is simply excluded from consideration because it doesn't meet Dan's definition of a sermon.   Yet this example of Jesus' spending time giving final instructions to those who will carry on His ministry somehow don't count when it comes to Jesus and PSA.   That Jesus literally instituted the practice of Communion,  which is literally a graphic representation of His body broken and His blood poured out for forgiveness of Sin, must be ignored when rehearsing PSA.   Why must we do this?  Because Dan said so.   Because he's decreed that it's not ALL of the red letters that matter, it's only a percentage that matter when it comes to support for PSA.  Is this arbitrary, yes.  Is excluding some of Jesus' words and teachings from consideration when it comes to this topic bizarre, also yes.

Much like the claims about political violence, it is simply foolish to make definitive statements about which side commits more "political violence" when so much left wing violence is excluded, and when violence that has no discernible political motivation is somehow added to the "right wing" side of things.   As I've posted about already, if we are going to have this conversation, we need accurate data that includes every bit of political violence since 1965-68.

Why am I proposing 1965-68 as the cut off point?  Good question.  I'd argue that the 1960s were the beginning of the modern political era and that before that things were significantly different.    Personally, I would exclude the violence around the Civil Rights movement for two reasons.  1.  It was as much or more racial as political.  2.  So much of that violence was engaged in by democrats that it is difficult to definitively categorize right/left in the current sense of things.    I think that we can agree that the violence around racial issues was deplorable no matter which side did it.   I also think that arguing about whether the racial violence was left or right is a waste of time, because it's not cut and dried.

Finally, I would propose that we include threats of violence in the dataset as well, when those threats are intended to achieve a political purpose.

IMO, having someone compile an accurate list of all political violence/threats of violence between 1965-2025, and assigning those events to right/left when specific, definitive,  evidence is available would be extremely helpful.   For those events where no specific motivation is obvious, they should be categorized as "unknown".

So much of this discussion comes down to those on the left, using incomplete data, claiming that it's massively tilted to the right and "well they do it..." as justification, with those on the right wondering why J6 is included, but none of the riots/occupations between 1992-2025 are not included.  Or why so many on the left are posting a graph of "political murders" (with serious methodology questions) and pretending that it measures "political violence".

I know this is repetitive, but IMO it is important enough to repeat.  When such important claims are being made and repeated, it seems really vital that all of the data is included in the dataset.   Artificially or arbitrarily limiting the dataset is simply bad (social) science.

Random Bits of Stuff That I Needed to Post

 https://x.com/bennyjohnson/status/1969058413062578220?s=51&t=cLq01Oy84YkmYPZ-URIMYw

“When I heard the tragic news, I said, ‘I wonder who he was.’ And then all of a sudden, this overwhelming, this overwhelming sense of sorrow and kind of renewal.” “And I thought, I gotta learn about this guy. And the more I learned about him, I thought, this guy's a modern day Saint Paul. He was a missionary, he's an evangelist, he's a hero.” “He's one that knew what Jesus meant when he said, the truth will set you free. And to do it, Now, I understand he was pretty blunt and he was pretty direct. He didn't try to avoid any controversy. He didn't even try to avoid confrontation. The difference is the way, the mode, the style that he did it, always with respect.”

I think that this is a great point. Too many on the left seem to have this reverence for the "old media", they revere the MSM, and are convinced that they are right because SNL and other TV shows push their narrative. The reality seems to be that influencers actually have more reach and influence that the MSM, yet all too many simply dismiss them because they aren't publishing in the old media.
