UNBIASED and OBJECTIVE

 https://x.com/derrickevans4wv/status/1935122285389824357?s=51&t=cLq01Oy84YkmYPZ-URIMYw

Back in the previous century, in the very first class I took on my way to a degree in Broadcasting/Journalism/Mass Media, made one thing perfectly clear.    It was beaten into us that reporters were to be UNBIASED in their reporting.  That OBJECTIVITY in reporting was the cornerstone and bedrock of journalism and our foremost goal.

A few years later, as my cousin was getting her similar degree, I asked her why she wanted to go into journalism.   Her answer, "I want to change things and affect outcomes.".    Which seems (at least somewhat) to contradict the mandate of UNBIASED OBJECTIVITY.    Obviously OBJECTIVE UNBIASED journalism can bring change, but that sort of change is not agenda driven.   The change was not the purpose of the journalism, but a byproduct.

When an allegedly UNBIASED and OBJECTIVE reporter for one of the "revered" MSM outlets that does "real journalism", says this publicly, I'm thinking that the days of OBJECTIVE and UNBIASED journalism are dwindling if not gone.

I've mentioned that my cousin is involved in a project intended to increase trust in journalists before.  I'd argue that the best way to accomplish this would be to return to OBJECTIVE and UNBIASED  reporting as the standard journalistic practice.

Bait or Switch?

 https://www.nytimes.com/2025/06/15/us/amy-coney-barrett-supreme-court.html

I know I supported her nomination, and I know she voted correctly to overturn Roe, but I definitely believe that  there has been some bait and switch going on with Barrett.

Somehow

I've somehow been blessed by the algorithm by having my Twitter feed filled with stuff about marriage.    I saw something this morning about "marital rape".   Now, as a Christian, I look at scripture to see if it has any suggestions about how to have healthy and God honoring marriage.   What I see there is that husbands are called to sacrificial love for their wives, and spouses are called to mutual submission.   I see Christ using marriage as a picture of The Church.   Given those things, I fail to see how anyone could believe that "marital rape" (or coercion, etc) has a place in a Christian marriage.  It literally seems like this behavior should be anathema a Christian marriage.   Likewise, when I see women arguing that it is acceptable to withhold sex in order to force their husbands to do things, I conclude that this behavior is not what a marriage looks like in scripture.     Yet, we're all sinners and we screw up, then we apologize ask for/give forgiveness and we move forward.

But, that's not really what struck me.  What struck me is the notion the relationship between YHWH and marriage.   It's said that YHWH "blesses marriage".    Certainly if we look at scripture we see that marriage is a good thing, instituted by YHWH for the benefit of both spouses.  Often at weddings the pastor will talk about marriage as a covenant between the spouses and YHWH, that we don't just make vows to our spouse but also to YHWH.   As I noted, marriage is  used as an illustration of the relationship between Christ and The Church, which leads me to conclude that YHWH does have strong feelings about marriage.

So, is all marriage created equal in the eyes of YHWH?    Is the marriage solemnized by a bush in CO viewed in exactly the same way as one in a church?   Is the second, third, fifth, or tenth marriage of one man to multiple wives "blessed" in the same way as that between one man and one women before YHWH?    Is the marriage between a 30 year old man and a 9 year old girl really "blessed" by YHWH?   Is a marriage where everyone involved rejects the existence of YHWH "blessed" by the very God they deny?   Can it really be argued that YHWH "blesses" the marriage of an abusive spouse?  Are there degrees of marriages being "blessed" by YHWH?    Is a marriage between two atheists somehow  more "blessed" than the two atheists cohabitating?   Does YHWH really "bless" a marriage where the wife is forced to cover herself from head to toe and lives a second class existence?   Conversely, does YHWH really "bless" a marriage where the wife makes money on OF by engaging is sexual behavior for money or on IG wearing little or no clothing?   As YHWH mentions, one aspect of marriage is to "be fruitful and multiply".   Does He then "bless" marriages when spouses choose not to have children?  Does YHWH bless a marriage between a human and a plant, a dog, or AI?

I'm struck by this dichotomy.  YHWH clearly speaks through scripture about marriage.  He clearly has thoughts, boundaries, involvement, in marriages and chose to use marriage as the very picture of His relationship with His Church.    Yet, there is an expectation that YHWH will automatically "bless" any relationship that humans label as marriage, regardless of whether or not that marriage aligns with YHWH's intention or design for marriage.

I personally do not see how YHWH could "bless" a marriage when a husband chooses not to love his wife in a sacrificial and self sacrificial manner, or in numerous other circumstances.    Yet, YHWH absolutely can redeem those who do not engage in self sacrificial love and mutual submission, and can then "bless" that marriage.    In short, I do not see how a claim that YHWH "blesses" every single relationship that humans refer to as marriage.    I guess it's possible that He does "bless" all marriage, but I can't seem how it could be argued that He blesses and abusive marriage in the same way as a marriage based on self sacrifice and mutual submission.

Finally, it should be obvious that I'm not talking about marriages where spouses sometimes screw up.   I'm not talking about marriages where spouses choose to do things that dishonor the marriage and their spouse, but acknowledge those things and sincerely ask for forgiveness.   No one and no marriage is perfect, yet it does seem safe to conclude that some are closer to perfect and closer to YHWH's intention than others.    If that is the case, it also seems foolish to conclude that YHWH doesn't "bless" those more perfect marriages more or differently than others.

"If you think the assassination of a foreign leader is the way to resolve differences, it’s not hard to understand how his followers might believe it is ok domestically.

Connect.the.dots"

This is the FB status of a local pastor friend of mine.

1.   Most problematically, it ignores the vast amount of death and destruction that can be laid at the feet of the Iranian leadership.

2.  It ignores the fact that Iran has had multiple opportunities to stop both it's pursuit of nuclear weapons as well as it's support for terrorists.

3.  It draws a false equivalence between one of the most evil humans on the planet, and someone who was (by all accounts) a decent human being.

4.  It ignores the fact that Walz has been spouting rhetoric which at least can be interpreted as a call to violence, as well as the recent string of ASPL violent incidents.

5.   It implies that Trump somehow instigated the shootings in MN.

6.  It assumes that the shooter was a Trump "follower".

7.  It's not like Biden and P-BO haven't engaged in military action that's killed enemy leaders.

8.   Is this really the kind of rhetoric you want from your pastor?

 https://www.kptv.com/2025/06/12/multnomah-co-man-gets-10-years-physical-abuse-death-his-baby-girl/

Call me crazy, but 10 years seems incredibly light for killing your own baby, unless the baby isn't born yet.   Then it's incredibly harsh.

True, or Not, it's an Interesting Thought

I have no idea whether or  not this is True.   It's one of those things that sounds True, and as someone who believes that YHWH designed our physical bodies it makes intuitive sense.   Scripture talks so much about "the heart" and it's importance to our entire being, that it's not far fetched to think that it's more than just a "meat pump".   Just like diminishing the brain to a "computer made of meat",  this might point toward something beyond our bodies being the result of random chance.

"WOW - FACEBOOK POST!!! They taught you the heart was just a glorified meat pump. That it squeezes and pushes blood like some crude mechanical device. A hydraulic engine made of flesh. That is what they want you to believe. Because if you buy into that primitive lie, you never ask deeper questions. But it is false. It has always been false. And the real science proves it. Dr Francisco Torrent-Guasp, a Spanish cardiac researcher, discovered what the textbooks refuse to acknowledge, that the heart is not a pump. He dissected thousands of hearts and found that the heart is a single continuous muscle band, folded into a spiral. He proved the heart works like a vortex generator, creating suction and torque, not pressure. He called it the Helical Ventricular Myocardial Band and it changes everything. The real movement of blood comes from pressure differentials, electromagnetic flow, and coherent resonance. The blood spirals naturally. It does not need to be forced through miles of arteries and capillaries. That idea is beyond stupid. The so-called pump is not strong enough to push thick fluid through 60,000 miles of tubing. That is basic physics. That lie was dead on arrival. Here is the truth. Blood moves before the heart forms in the embryo. It flows via frequency, resonance, and electric charge. The body is a field, not a factory. Your heart creates a toroidal electromagnetic field that radiates six metres from the body. This field syncs with the Earth, the Sun, and every living being around you. It is a resonator. A tuner. A conductor. It aligns the rhythm of your cells. It feels. It remembers. It emits. And it responds to emotion, thought, light, sound, and breath. When you feel love, grief, fear, or peace, your heart transmits it. It is the central frequency modulator of your biology. Not a fucking pump. And the institutions know this. The HeartMath Institute has measured these fields for decades. They know the heart has more neuronal cells than parts of the brain. They know it is a second brain. They know coherence in the heart transforms the entire nervous system. So why are they still teaching children a 400-year-old guess from William Harvey that has never been updated? Because if you knew the truth, you would never accept statins or beta blockers again. You would understand that trauma, emotion, and disconnection break the heart field, not cholesterol. You would stop obeying the medical cartel and start tuning your body like the intelligent frequency field it is. They do not want coherent humans. They want disrupted, inflamed, fragmented people who rely on drugs to survive. That is the business model. And the fake heart pump lie is central to it. Your heart is not a pressure valve. It is a vortex. A field tuner. A resonating gateway between physical and energetic worlds. It is the instrument of your soul. And it has been hijacked by science that refuses to evolve."  1.   Given that fact that voting is reserved for citizens only by the constitution, on what possible grounds could this judge make this ruling?

2.  Thank goodness, as it will hopefully allow SCOTUS to reinforce the constitutionally protected prohibition on non citizens voting.

Tragedy (Updated)(updated)x4

We had two lawmakers and their wives shot today, and others threatened.   From what I've seen locally this morning the response has been directed at protecting lawmakers on both sides of the aisle, and on finding the assailant.   So far, no motive and no information has been found and released.

I'm sure that some will jump to conclusions, but I'm imploring people not to do so.

This is a horrible tragedy, and I look for the perpetrator to be found and arrested as soon as possible.

I hope that the timing of this doesn't diminish the police available to investigate this horrible crime because of the significant amount of resources required for the big protest.   Hopefully this won't rile the protesters up any more that the already are.

Three relevant pieces of information are being reported.

It’s being reported that the alleged shooter had “No Kings” literature in his car, along with a manifesto.  It's also being reported that the alleged shooter worked for a security company which gave him access to a police type uniform as well as a police like car.  Finally it's being reported that the alleged shooter has pro Gaza/Hamas ties.

It’s being reported that the two reps shot had voted against funding health care for illegal aliens.  Further reporting is drawing a link between this and the shootings.

The shooter was an appointee of Gov Walz, as well as of governor Dayton (both DFL) and the shooter's wife was an intern for Walz.

Despite being asked not to show up at the protest, people have chosen to do so anyway   I sincerely hope this doesn’t impede the search

They caught the guy last night, but so far have refused to release the "manifesto".   Given the high profile of this case, one wonders why not.

There is speculation that he was unhappy because his ONG lost USAID funding, or because the MN budget didn't have funding for illegal alien healthcare.

Regardless of what the MSM tells you, MN does not have a provision for party preference when registering to vote.

"You aren't going to like this post, but it needs to be said about Vance Bolter. At first, I assumed Vance Boelter was just another grifter in the NGO/activist space. He built a fake resume, floated around volunteer gigs, and set up shell organizations for clout. His "Red Lion Group" has no real paper trail. His side business in "security services" looks like a cash grab. But the more I dug, the more different it looks. Boelter was a 7/11 manager, but constantly promoted himself as a corporate executive. He claims the title "Dr." based on a Ed.D. in Leadership. He chased every opportunity to get in front of an audience: volunteering for Governor Walz's "Workforce Development" initiatives, speaking at conferences, anything to be seen as a leader. And in videos of him in African churches, you see him light up. He's performing. He's preaching vague, positive platitudes to foreign audiences. He wanted to be somebody. He wanted to be followed. There's good reason to believe that

is right... he was remodeling that building below into a church. Not to serve Jesus, but as a stage for an audience that would never come. I think he is a man addicted to attention and status, who tried to get it through a lot of means. And when that attention dried up (possibly whoever cut him off his funding in Congo), he snapped. I believe Vance Boelter committed violence as a last, desperate attempt to be glorified: under the delusion that killing abortion rights activists would make him a martyr or hero. This is not Christianity. I watched his sermons. They were designed to provoke emotional applause, not spiritual conviction. His actions contradict the standard Jesus gave us to recognize false prophets: "By their fruits you will know them." – Matthew 7:15–20 Boelter bore no good fruit. Just narcissism, manipulation, and ultimately violence. He wasn't an evangelical or MAGA. He was a man who couldn't stand being ordinary."

I saw this elsewhere, and it seemed like a reasonable summary with what we know so far.

He's been charged with 2 counts of 2nd degree murder and two counts of attempted murder.   It's likely that this is just enough to get the process started and that additional charges will be added later.  Apparently they need a grand jury indictment for 1st degree murder, which I expect will be coming soon as well.    My guess is that they'll have no trouble proving premeditation.

Sounds like he's been charged by the feds as well.

Oh, We Know... (updated)

 https://x.com/gavinnewsom/status/1933235335166898346?s=51&t=cLq01Oy84YkmYPZ-URIMYw

There have been multiple versions of this meme going around.  Essentially, "If they'll handcuff a Senator, what will they do to you.".     There are multiple problems with this narrative.   First, the video clearly shows Padilla interrupting a private press conference, and shouting over Noem.   Second, the video clearly shows Padilla rushing the podium and initiating physical contact with the security detail.  Third, he did not "identify" himself as a senator until after he started the altercation and (apparently) wasn't wearing an identification pin that would have identified him as a senator.   The simple reality is that the security detail did what they are trained to do, and did so with a minimum of force.   They also quickly rectified the situation.    Maybe, had Padilla acknowledged that he got a bit overzealous and shouldn't have behaved the way he did, this would have gone differently.  Instead he and his minions have tried to blow this up into something that it clearly was not.    Of course the lemmings jumped on the narrative without regard to the facts.

But, let's look at what "they will do to you".    Newsome arrested people for being alone on beaches, for surfing alone, used force to close churches, all while flouting his own rules.  Walz used the MN national guard to go through neighborhoods and intimidate people who were merely spending time on their own porches, while simultaneously allowing thousands  of rioters to fill the streets of MPLS for days without risk of anything.   No masks, yes looting and arson, virtually no one arrested for either.

Finally, those posting this meme either participated in or supported people being fired, jailed, punished, having their children taken away, and caused untold damage to a generation of children because of a virus with a survival rate well over 95%.

The answer is that we know exactly what they'll do to us, because we have memories of the Biden administration.

Shoot the Wounded (updated)

What is it about so many Christians that leads them/us to be incredibly zealous in attacking others for their sins, while ignoring our own sin?  What is it about so many Christians that seem to assume their own forgiveness, yet who aggressively withhold forgiveness from others?  What is it about some Christians that compels them to "shoot our wounded" rather than work for repentance and restoration?  There's an old saying that compares the Church to a hospital for the sick and injured, yet to watch so much of social media Christianity recently I'm convinced that triage involves (metaphorically) shooting a lot of folks.  I'm not saying that we don't call out sin, or wrongdoing, we absolutely should.   Yet I can't imagine Jesus responding to the sinners He interacted with the same way we see on social media.

I have a lot of problems with social media, and truly believe that the harm we'll discover that was caused by children's exposure to it will be much greater than we imagine.  Yet, I'm starting to think that the anonymity of social media is proving to be an avenue for some people to engage in sin that they would not engage in otherwise.

Growing up it was, "If you can't say something nice, don't say anything".    Maybe there's something to that.

I saw a video this weekend of an interview at TPUSA with a woman who'd quit OF, become a Christian, and had gotten married.   The comments section was BRUTAL.    I understand exercising caution when a "celebrity" becomes a Christian, especially when it's publicized.  I even understand that maybe caution in putting someone like this out on a big stage might be a good thing, maybe wait and see before putting her out there.   But the number of "Christians" who were doubting her sincerity and ripping her to shreds was disgusting.   Clearly, Dan isn't the only one who considers vitriol as grace.

For those who worship data as the be all and end all of every discussion, and for whom peer reviewed science is the gold standard of information, I wonder how long it's possible to stay committed to a narrative when the evidence against that narrative continues to grow.

When literally every aspect of the narrative that demanded that every child who expressed any questions about their "gender role" be "transed" immediately,  is being undermined by the data, what could possibly be next to support these barbarians.

I understand the "trans medical complex", they stand to make millions doing unnecessary surgeries and (depending on their disclosures and procedures) want to keep the gravy train going as long as possible.  Hopefully between well written disclosures and hold harmless agreements and insurance they can make out like bandits until someone finally puts a stop to the insanity.

But the average schmucks who simply parrot the talking points and re post the propaganda, how long will they hold out in the face of "The SCcence

Pick, Build, Wipe (updated)

One of the popular ASPL arguments for unrestricted illegal immigration is some form of "But without illegal immigrants, who will pick your vegetables?", or build your houses.

I like to think of this argument as being based on the premise that the US cannot operate without a permanent underclass, paid incredibly low wages, and essentially forced into slavery/serfdom by the threat of being turned in to ICE.   This is the argument being made by the ASPL not by greedy profit loving conservatives, but by the empathetic progressives.   What's interesting to me is that every time the ASPL makes a move to "help" those on the low end of the wage scale is the unintended consequences.   Raise the minimum wage for low skilled burger flipper jobs, and the companies make the move to kiosks for people to order their food, which eliminates jobs.   Given this, how much effort is John Deere putting into making a machine that can harvest tomatoes or other vegetable crops?  Y'all don't think that the farm corporations that hire illegal aliens wouldn't jump at the chance to replace them with a machine?

Likewise, as builders are moving toward pre assembled framing components, you'll see an increase in machines and decrease in framers on construction sites, especially residential.

Ultimately it sure seems like the ASPL want this slave/serf class because they believe that they can buy their votes with promises that they'll likely never fulfill.   They want them counted in the census because it stacks the legislature.  I'm not sure that importing an underclass, keeping them in low wage, low skill, menial jobs to score political points is a good strategy.  Expecting them to wipe the asses of progressive legislators seems like an even worse idea.

Obviously he's a raging progressive, and she's literally railing against Trump for messing with the status quo of maintaining an entire class of low wage, low skilled, illegal aliens around to prop up "sectors of our economy".

 https://x.com/wallstreetapes/status/1934375475469840684?s=51&t=cLq01Oy84YkmYPZ-URIMYw

Big Ag is likely supports politicians on both sides because it's expedient.   So this isn't a totally partisan issue, but it is clear that Big Ag relies on underpaid immigrants to make it's money.   Trump needs to enforce the laws on both ends.  He needs to deport the illegal aliens and fine the companies that hire them.  It might keep grocery prices higher, but it's the right thing to do.

FWIW, I have been saying for years that part of the problem with the reliance on low wage immigrants in the trades is that we as a society have demeaned and minimized the value of skilled tradesmen and overvalued 4 year degrees in terms of status.   We as a society need to rethink this narrative and encourage people to expand their horizons beyond racking up massive debt for a worthless degree to follow your dreams.  Obviously the educational establishment and the student loan lenders would prefer otherwise, but failure to do so is going to negatively impact our country in the future.

Maybe the ASPL narrative is wrong?    Who knew?

  https://x.com/wrong_speak/status/1934386525380513868?s=51&t=cLq01Oy84YkmYPZ-URIMYw

This is exactly the kind of thing I'm talking about.

The pro-abortion argument is "the unborn aren't human", the pro-slavery argument was that "blacks aren't human", the pro-illegal immigration argument is "who's going to pick our vegetables/mow my lawn/roof my house", the pro-slavery argument was "who else will pick our cotton".    Coincidence?

Stupidly False

"Rational adults don't make stupidly false claims or unsupported claims"

Given that the author of this claim prides themselves on how spectacularly rational they are,  yet also makes "stupidly false claims", I can only conclude that the above claim is also "stupidly false".

I Don't Know

 https://x.com/townhallcom/status/1932448681069814087?s=51&t=cLq01Oy84YkmYPZ-URIMYw

if CNN is reporting this then it must be True, right?    The DFL/ASPL is making it clear that they are moving on from their traditional constituencies, now that they've milked them for all they can, and going all in on  new "oppressed" groups to manipulate and take advantage of.

https://x.com/avidseries/status/1932509324040896652?s=51&t=cLq01Oy84YkmYPZ-URIMYw

How much more evidence do we need to get the ASPL to drop the narrative about who is actually killing black people?

 https://x.com/jonatanpallesen/status/1932521020889469005?s=51&t=cLq01Oy84YkmYPZ-URIMYw

I guess the only response to past "oppression" is to engage in race based "oppression" using the court system to advance your version of racism.

Riots, and Looting, and Bullshit, Oh My!

https://x.com/feralphunter/status/1932538698840899758?s=51&t=cLq01Oy84YkmYPZ-URIMYw

Why is it that these left wing "peaceful protests" almost always involve looting of non essential items, and destruction of businesses belonging to the "oppressed" groups?

 https://x.com/ianonpatriot/status/1932426358207979617?s=51&t=cLq01Oy84YkmYPZ-URIMYw

I'd forgotten about this gem.  For all of those who have a problem with using the National Guard to deal with riots and looting, I didn't hear any complaints when Tim Walz ordered the MN National Guard to harass people for being out of the porches of their own homes during COVID.

Because looting an Apple store is fighting oppression.

The more information about the law enforcement action that set off a small riot in MPLS recently, the more we learn that these people were protesting to protect drug dealers and human traffickers.    Of course several elected city officials stoked the fires and made things worse.  But it's all Trump's fault.   Strangely enough, it sounds like the raids in LA that set off the riots were also drug related.

Viva El Oppressores!!!!!!!   As long as they're Spanish.    But the education system in the US is doing a bang up job.

I Love LA

As we watch the peaceful, left wing, protesters loot and burn their way through LA we're faced with multiple story lines.

1.  The fact that we have immigrants waving Mexican flags, protesting American immigration policies in America.   In Mexico, both the immigration and the non citizen protests would be illegal.    It's a strange way to ingratiate yourself to the country you claim to want to live in.

2.  Trump learned from the Summer of Love 1.0 that failing to bring in the National Guard could have prevented damage and harm.    So good move getting the National Guard in early.   But what in the hell is going on with bringing in the freaking Marines.  While there are good and valid arguments against deploying active duty military personnel to deal with riots of this nature, the fact that he chose the Marines makes no sense.   Historically the Marines have had a specific primary mission, seaborne assault,  and because of that don't have the numbers of support troops that the army has.   The army has much larger numbers of civil affairs/MPs than the marines do and would probably be a better choice here.   Marine infantry isn't necessarily trained for this kind of thing, and is probably not a good choice.

3.   Once again, the lie that left wing protests are always peaceful is exposed.

4.   From what I've seen reported, the LE action that started these riots wasn't even immigration enforcement (at least not primarily).  Much like what we saw in MPLS, you end up with a bunch of people trying to protest busting criminals for crimes other than immigration.

5.   This is going to provide fodder for campaign ads in the next several election cycles.  The GOP is going to use this (and other readily available video) to show how bad things are in a blue city in a blue state.     They'll use this against Newsom if he runs next time around.    While the DFL will try to spin this as Trump using the military to quash "peaceful" protests.

In general, I support increased enforcement of laws regarding immigration, as well as against drug trafficking.  So I have no problem going into a place like LA to do so, as it points out the failures of the CA/LA governments.

Praying

"1 The words of Nehemiah son of Hakaliah:

In the month of Kislev in the twentieth year, while I was in the citadel of Susa, Hanani, one of my brothers, came from Judah with some other men, and I questioned them about the Jewish remnant that had survived the exile, and also about Jerusalem.

They said to me, “Those who survived the exile and are back in the province are in great trouble and disgrace. The wall of Jerusalem is broken down, and its gates have been burned with fire.”

When I heard these things, I sat down and wept. For some days I mourned and fasted and prayed before the God of heaven. Then I said:

Lord, the God of heaven, the great and awesome God, who keeps his covenant of love with those who love him and keep his commandments, let your ear be attentive and your eyes open to hear the prayer your servant is praying before you day and night for your servants, the people of Israel. I confess the sins we Israelites, including myself and my father’s family, have committed against you. We have acted very wickedly toward you. We have not obeyed the commands, decrees and laws you gave your servant Moses.

“Remember the instruction you gave your servant Moses, saying, ‘If you are unfaithful, I will scatter you among the nations, but if you return to me and obey my commands, then even if your exiled people are at the farthest horizon, I will gather them from there and bring them to the place I have chosen as a dwelling for my Name.’

10 “They are your servants and your people, whom you redeemed by your great strength and your mighty hand. 11 Lord, let your ear be attentive to the prayer of this your servant and to the prayer of your servants who delight in revering your name. Give your servant success today by granting him favor in the presence of this man.”

I was cupbearer to the king."

This was the text for the sermon yesterday and I was struck by how infrequently I, and others that I'm with, pray like this.   While I'm not suggesting that there is a perfect prayer or that we quote Biblical prayers verbatim (Lord's Prayer being ab exception), I do think that going before YHWH with Nehemiah's attitude and posture might be something to consider.

As a side note, the pastor made a comment about the vital importance if the walls to the city of Jerusalem, the Temple, and the the Jewish remnant, as evidenced by YHWH facilitating Nehemiah in his calling to rebuild the wall.  The point being made was that a city without a wall was defenseless and could be conquered at will by anyone.   I think there might be a larger, unintended, point that we can apply today in that comment.

I'm Just Saying...

Don't Shoot This Particular Shot

“The consequences that must result from a too unqualified admission of foreigners… The safety of the republic depends essentially on the energy of a common National sentiment; on a uniformity of principles and habits; on the exemption of the citizens from foreign bias, and prejudice; and on that love of country which will almost invariably be found to be closely connected with birth, education and family. The mass influx of foreigners must, therefore, tend to produce a heterogeneous compound; to change and corrupt the national spirit; to complicate and confound public opinion; to introduce foreign propensities. In the composition of society, the harmony of the ingredients is all important, and whatever tends to a discordant intermixture must have an injurious tendency. The United States have already felt the evils of incorporating a large number of foreigners into their national mass; it has served very much to divide the community and to distract our councils, by promoting in different classes different predilections in favor of particular foreign nations, and antipathies against others. It has been often likely to compromit the interests of our own country in favor of another. To admit mass foreigners indiscriminately to the rights of citizens, the moment they put foot in our country, would be nothing less, than to admit the Trojan Horse into the Citadel of our Liberty and Sovereignty.”

Trump v. Musk (Updated)

Yesterday,  Trump and Musk got into a social media kerfuffle that had all of the earmarks of two teenage girls bitching at each other.

I'm not sure what either one of them thinks they gain from this.

Musk and DOGE have done some good stuff and I understand that he might be frustrated by the fact that the current bill doesn't codify the DOGE cuts.  As I understand it there are parliamentary reasons for that, but nonetheless  failure to get a bill codifying those cuts looks bad.   Musk is also right about the damage to the country that this bill can do by increasing the debt.   Yet, the GOP doesn't have the ability to dictate everything and this might be the best that can be done right now.

As for Trump this is one more example of what seems like snatching defeat from the jaws of victory.    All he had to do was thank Musk profusely, tell him that his voice would always be welcome, and commit to follow up legislation to implement the cuts.   It's possible that this is Trump playing some game that'll pay off down the road, but it looks like one more example of him promising to cut spending, while actually increasing it.   On top of that, this whole petulant child who isn't getting what he wants routine is getting old.   Seriously, grow up, do your job and stay away from this childish bullshit.   The total focus on this current bill as if it's some miraculous piece of legislation that doesn't blow up spending is bizarre.   If Trump had the intellectual honesty to even acknowledge that it's not perfect, but that it contains things that will be beneficial, he'd seem like he's living in reality.  I get it, he talks in hyperbole and blandishments, it's his shtick, but anyone who believes that this bill is as wonderful as Trump makes it sound just has their head up his ass.

As far as the Epstein files mentions, I can't believe that his name isn't in there.   People in those circles tend to interact and it'd be a shock if they didn't cross paths.   If there was evidence that Trump did anything significant, it would have been leaked months or years ago.   Strangely, no one who's salivating over this seems the least bit concerned at Bill Clinton's involvement or any other of the DFL ruling/donor class.

It's this kind of crap that takes away the focus from Trump's successes and makes his job that much harder.

"In the Trump/Elon dispute Elon represents fiscal reality, Trump represents Political reality. Elon knows the Unite States is headed toward financial collapse caused by its debt, Trump knows voters will never accept the spending cuts and tax hikes needed to solve the debt crisis."

I saw this the other day and it may be one of the better explanations for the feud.  If this is the case, I'm on team Elon.    Trump has not been anywhere near bold enough or shown the leadership that we need on the debt crisis.   Yeah it's going to suck to "fix", yeah it's going to take a degree of sacrifice that the ASPL is clearly unwilling to even consider. yeah it's not as easy as "Tax billionaires.", but unfortunately Trump has added to the problem (@ 8 billion in the first 4 years, and another 2-3 billion this year alone) while hoping that a better economy will kick the can down the road until he's out.   Of all of the things Trump has said he wants to address, this is the one that is the most disappointing.

Category Error

"This #PrideMonth I want to remind everyone that gay, lesbian, and bisexual people do not need medical intervention. We don’t need puberty blockers. We don’t need cross-sex hormones. We don’t need so-called “gender-affirming care.” We don’t need binders, surgery, or the rewriting of basic facts. We don’t ask you to ignore what you can see and hear. We don’t ask you to lie for us. All we ask is to be treated like everyone else. Our sexuality is honestly the least interesting thing about us. We just want to get on with our lives without forcing people to say things they don’t believe, and without expecting the world to rearrange itself around us. That’s very different from what we’re seeing now with the +TQ The gender identity movement is demanding total conformity. It’s not just about how someone wants to live—it’s about making everyone else validate that choice, or else be called a bigot. People are being sacked, silenced, or even arrested for stating basic biological facts. That’s not progress. That’s coercion. We are not the same, and we never have been. LGB people fought to be accepted as we are—not to force others to pretend. We never needed special language, medical intervention, or legal threats. We asked for fairness, privacy, and dignity—not for a new ideology to be imposed on everyone else. Because being gay, lesbian, or bisexual doesn’t require anyone to lie. It doesn’t require anyone to play along. It just requires the world to let us live in peace. #LGBWithoutTheTQ"

This is a post from someone who I suspect is LGB, who's tired of the "T" folx and their bullshit.

While I obviously am not a big fan of any of this, I do thing that the author has some good points.

The primary point I agree with is the first one.    The LGB folx don't need biological modifications, or anything special.  They are as they have always been.

Now, the "We just want to get on with our lives..." might have been True of the larger movement at one point, and certainly was a talking point for a minute, the reality is that the LGB folx are pushing their sexuality for beyond the bedroom at this point.   If they want this talking point to be taken seriously, then live it out and it'll be obvious.    She's right about the sex thing being the "least interesting", yet many/most of the LGB folx lead with exactly that.

I think that, where I see this is that the "T" folx are engaging in a category error, while the LGB folx are not.   The LGB analogue is to using a medication off label.  They're using things designed to be used one way, in a different way.   Not great, not prescribed, but still works to some degree.  Of course they can use things in the way that they were designed/intended, they just choose not to,

The "T" folx are engaged in a category error in that they demand the X can magically become Y, yet they also demand the others affirm their delusion.   Yet they go further, they also demand that X can also morph into anything between A-Z.   When it reality they are simply modifying X so that it superficially resembles Y.   Y is not, nor will it ever functionally or ontologically be X, but it is a facsimile of X.   Often not even a good facsimile of X.     To use the seat belt analogy, it would be like saying that inserting the tab end of the seat belt into the tail of a donkey would keep you safe in an airplane crash.  Or like saying that you want to use your Honda Accord to sail to Europe.  It simply makes no sense.

As a Christian, I have issues with all of it and how it aligns with YHWH's created order.  But I see an order of magnitude difference between "Tab A goes into hole D instead of slot B" and "Tab A must be completely removed and something resembling slot B must be installed in it's place".      As humans we're all on a continuum of depravity, we're not all the same kind of sinful and we don't all commit the same number of sins.   Yet we're all on the continuum, and the only hope for any of us is Jesus.  It's not our job, our deeds, our charity, our empathy, or our actions.  It's Jesus, He's the answer.

Disgusting

 https://www.newindianexpress.com/world/2018/Apr/29/pakistan-female-infanticide-hundreds-of-dead-bodies-of-newborns-recovered-from-garbage-piles-1807952.html

 https://www.bbc.com/news/world-asia-23529448

 https://thealabamabaptist.org/newborn-girls-being-killed-across-pakistan/

1.   Maybe part of the problem with things like rape rings in the UK is that they allowed huge numbers of Pakistanis to immigrate, regardless of their religion.

2.  Any religion or culture that encourages or allows this sort of behavior forfeits any right to be considered civilized.

3.  That the ASPL continues to defend and make excuses for this kind of behavior, or at least refuse to call it out, seems to indicate complicity.

4.  For anyone who buys into any level of "morality is subjective (or not universal/objective)" just remember that their culture, religion, and society considers this and the marriage of close relatives to be perfectly and morally acceptable.

Screw the MSM

 https://www.usatoday.com/story/news/nation/2025/06/03/boulder-suspects-daughter-deported/84017946007/?taid=684054ee9847150001c294a4&utm_campaign=trueanthem&utm_medium=social&utm_source=twitter

I am more and more coming around to the fact that the "revered" MSM is simply full of left wing zealots who'll use anything to advance their agenda.

The premise of this story is the the daughter of the terrorist who tried to burn Jews alive is being "oppressed" because she and the rest of her family who are in the US illegally are going to be deported.

I suspect that the children of the victims are suffering because this poor girl's father tried to burn them alive, but let's not focus on the actual victims, when we can invent new victims.

Is there an aspect of this where it is too bad that this guy made choices that negatively affected his family, sure.   Will this girl be prevented from fulfilling her dream of becoming a Dr, not in the least.  She just won't get to do it in the US.   Life sucks, actions have consequences, there are colleges, universities, and medical schools across the globe.  She'll be fine.   Maybe she should specialize in treating burn victims or something.

Anti Semetic? Pro Drug? (Updated)(updated)

As the fallout from this drug raid has persisted, it is fascinating how many professed Christians have committed themselves to perpetuating a false narrative about the events in question.   That people who consider themselves to be "godly" would so willingly continue to spout lies is concerning.

Except that it's not anything that we aren't used to.  Lies are bad when their enemies tell them, lies are fine when they tell them.

We had an interesting situation in CO last week.  An illegal alien, who intentionally violated his immigration status, engaged in a blatantly antisemitic attack on a Jewish family, using Molotov Cocktails and had a "flamethrower" in his possession as well.  This follows the cold blooded murder of two Israeli embassy staffers in DC a couple of weeks ago.  (I'm not linking to news stories because anyone who's ignorant of these attacks and the motivation is simply too uninformed to be taken seriously)

What I find interesting about the response to these attacks is the lack of outrage from the ASPL.   These two perpetrators can only be described as left of center, pro Palestine (an ASPL cause), violent, and antisemitic.  Yet I have yet to see any of the left wing bloggers, or the left wing opinion media respond with the level of outrage as they would have and have when they can identify a perpetrator as "right wing".   Even in cases where the "right wing" connection is found to be wrong (Nashville school shooter, I truck attacker, etc) the "retractions" are rarely particularly prominent.

On a related note.   The MSPL in MPLS decided to "protest" what is being reported as a significant drug arrest in South MPLS yesterday.  During this "protest" they physically intervened and engaged in what appears to be both assault and battery against federal law enforcement officers.   Y'all on the left must be really proud of your commitment to "protest" drug arrests.    Given the stranglehold the DFL has on the "justice system" in MPLS it is highly unlikely that this obstruction of justice will result in any repercussions from the city or state.   Leaving the only hope for justice in the hands of the federal government.   Yes, when the "protesters" engaged in violent/forceful physical contact with LEO engaged in their duties, the LEO "pushed" them away to prevent further interference.  Judging by the video, it seems that the LEO response was reasonable, measured, and appropriate.   Of course arrest would have been more appropriate.

I guess we could see the pro drug "protesters" admit that they were wrong/stupid/blinded by partisanship and apologize.   Of course we could also see them doubling down on their actions.

https://www.facebook.com/watch/?mibextid=wwXIfr&v=1423392535681561&rdid=9zaN2QKgm8kbHz8H

This story just gets better and better.  The Sheriff stated publicly that the raid in question was NOT in immigration enforcement raid, but  part of a large investigation of a "trans national" criminal enterprise (drug cartel).   She also blamed the "protests" and violence on multiple elected officials who went public with false information, and on the lemmings (my word, not hers) that blindly believed the bullshit.

My social media was full of posts from friends criticizing the raid, based on the bullshit.  So far I haven't seen any of them retract, delete, or correct their content.  I wonder why.

In case you're interested, the elected officials who sparked this violent "protest", DFL.

FYI, in case you don't watch the video, the sheriff is a black woman in Hennepin country, the hances of her being liberal are incredibly high.

Data Sucks

It's shocking when data so definitively shows narratives to be false.  The lie that immigration is always a net positive is less and less sustainable.

Pride Goeth Before Something

This image perfectly illustrates so much that is stupid about the LGTQXYZPDQ movement and their idiotic supporters.

Anyone with half a brain, knows that a seat belt is designed to perform a certain function, and that it must be used properly in order to perform it's function.   We know this because it is mandated that there is a safety presentation on every flight showing how to properly work the seat belt.  We also know that seat belts are required to be worn properly at certain times during flights in order to increase passenger safety.  If you look at the picture, it is abundantly clear that if you "click with" 2 of the three options that the flight attendant will correct you and order you to use the belt properly.  Or, another way, 2/3 of these significantly increase your changes of injury or death under certain flight conditions.    It'd almost be worth booking a flight on Royal Dutch Airlines and trying to convince the flight crew to take off with one of the top two options with my seat belt.   I'd happily show them this picture to assure them that my choice "doesn't matter".

Finally, and most obviously, only one of those options actually "clicks".
