" EXCLUSIVE: Texas Senate candidate James Talarico — who has spent millions in ads calling Republican Ken Paxton "the most corrupt politician in Texas" — is now facing his own "blatant corruption" allegation tied to a progressive consulting firm that raked in over $5 million in state contracts while he sat on the committee overseeing those very contracts. Talarico drew an $83,333 annual salary from MAYA Consulting, a DEI-focused firm that landed two Texas Education Agency contracts totaling more than $5.2 million between 2021 and 2022. The contracts were specifically tied to COVID-19 learning loss — the same priority Talarico was pushing in the Texas House as a voting member of the Public Education Committee. The RNC is calling it a "textbook pay-to-play scheme.""
I posted this story as reported after having done some research to determine if it was obviously inaccurate at the time it was reported. Since then questions have been raised and Talarico has denied the allegations. I will continue to research the story and will update or remove this as appropriate.

"Meanwhile in Dearborn, Muslims are reportedly intimidating businesses and trying to ban the sale of alcohol because it’s ’haram’: “Dearborn is now a Muslim-majority city. If you want to live here, you have to follow our laws!” This is Sharia."
This is something else that Dan, personally, assured me was not and would never happen.

"The Claim: During the 2026 Texas U.S. Senate campaign, RNC spokesperson Zach Kraft accused James Talarico of a "pay-to-play scheme," alleging he steered millions in state funds to a DEI consulting agency named MAYA in exchange for a commission or no-show job.
The Facts: According to reporting by Fox News Digital, James Talarico served on the Texas House's Public Education Committee but was not involved in the Texas Education Agency's (TEA) process for awarding outside contracts and did not vote on them."
Meanwhile, the GOP in Texas impeached Starr due to his corruption. The felon in the WH IS a felon and overtly corrupt AND he and his family have profiteered to the tune of several BILLIONS of dollars.
You see, the problem with the modern "conservative" GOP is that they don't give a damn about corruption or lawlessness or decency as has been demonstrated by the people they put in office. The modern "conservatives" have been exposed as nothing more than whores willing to sell their souls for more and more power, no matter how corrupt and inept their leadership is.
You're talking about THIS non-case, for instance, while ignoring the Trump's sons wedding being lavishly paid for by actual communists and villains and war criminals, or this administration's profiteering billions of dollars for himself and his family, or even his campaign commercials he's running paid for by OUR tax dollars.
You've been exposed as people who don't give a damn about common sense, morality, laws or decency. Much to your shame.
As always, I research things before I post them. What I found supported this story. I will do additional research on it, and take whatever measures are appropriate depending on what I find.
Unfortunately, I’m not perfect and occasionally make mistakes.
You’d have more credibility on things like this if you held yourself and those you support politically to the same standards you hold others to.
The fact that you stay so silent on any number of stories and issues which benefit your political side or reflect badly on politicians or policies you support makes this kind of whining seem very disingenuous at best.
One other note on reports of wrongdoing. As we’ve seen here in MN, everyone involved in the multi billion dollar fraud schemes denied involvement when the reports started. Hell two of the politicians who were involved in allowing the fraud are denying and lying about their involvement while running for office.
The fact that a denial of wrongdoing exists is hardly proof that nothing happened.
Finally, remember when even the appearance of wrongdoing was enough to torpedo a political candidate?
Not anymore.
