"In their FTC legal battle, WPATH argues their standards (SOC-8) are merely opinion. Aetna doesn't seem to think so - in their clinical policy on pediatric gender surgery, WPATH is cited as the sole authority to justify insurance coverage. An update to Aetna’s clinical policy on July 1, 2026, again cites WPATH as the sole authority for mandatory coverage of gender surgery in Colorado. WPATH’s SOC-8 were not mere guidelines reflecting medical opinion; rather, they functioned as a product shaped by deception. Consider this unsealed email exchange involving two lead authors of SOC-8: Dan Karasic, author of Medical Necessity Statement, wrote: Insurance regulatory bodies...look at evidence for medical necessity in coverage decisions….I cannot overstate the importance of SOC8 getting this right." When the lead authors of medical guidelines design them around the expectations of “insurance regulatory bodies," emphasizing the need to “get this right,” they are no longer producing neutral opinions. They are creating a a product aimed squarely at one market: insurance companies. Which is why they focused so heavily on the “Medical Necessity” Statement - medical necessity is the single factor that determines insurance coverage. If WPATH’s SOC-8 guidelines can be retroactively transformed into mere “opinions,” then Enron’s financial schemes were simply free market capitalism."

" WPATH's SOC-8 recommendations for puberty blockers and hormones for gender-dysphoric youth hinged on one key assertion: that a systematic review of outcomes for adolescents was "not possible" and therefore WPATH's expert opinion represented the best available evidence. Yet at the time of the SOC-8 writing, at least 2 English-language systematic reviews from UK NICE already existed and found the claims of benefits of hormones for youth to be untrustworthy. What's more, WPATH commissioned its own systematic review from Johns Hopkins—and then worked to suppress the publication of the results, as is now widely known. Some medical commentators suggest WPATH has done nothing wrong for issuing its "opinions" in such a manner. If issuing guidelines that are not evidence-based, while suppressing unfavorable evidence, is "business as usual" in medicine, there is little surprise that medicine is going through a crisis of patient distrust."

WPATH now admits that youth gender medicine is marked by "medical and scientific uncertainty" with 2 alternative paths to care for gender-dysphoric youth: WPATH's medicalized vs the Cass-aligned non-invasive one. Yet for 10+ years, doctors have been told WPATH's is the only way.
Between this and the HHS report, the "trans" medical industrial complex is taking significant hits to their foundational principles.

""Kirby" Rankin, one of the Ohio trans child m—rder suspects, was out on bail at the time of the boy's torture and killing after being convicted for brutally beating a 57-year-old woman in Fairfield, Ohio.
The thing that never happens, keeps happening.
