I wasn't even thinking about that angle. More the fact that Ellison isn't particularly smart and that it's clearly an instance of the political version of racial profiling.
Off the top of my head, I can't think of any Dem that I'd like to see in that post. I also feel confident that were I to come up with one, that person would not be one the Dem party would agree should be in that post. They prefer a total idiot, which is why I don't see why they just didn't pull out all the stops and call upon Sheila Jackson Lee. Imagine the laughs.
I agree in principle, but since they're going to pick someone, I'm going to support the one who's not particularly smart or qualified, but checks the right oppressed minority boxes.
