Possible

Life has been pretty busy, so I've been sitting on a bunch of post ideas for a while, but this just came up today and I thought I'd do a quick one.

As I watch the anti-Trump crowd and the string of endless protests, I can't help but notice that they're not really advocating for any specific things, just against  stuff.

The question that occurs to me is; "Is is possible that these endless protests just might have the effect of turning center/left/moderates away from the protesters and the liberal/progressive/socialist democratic side of things?",

I don't know that I have an opinion, but it sure seems possible that this could be a huge political mistake, and do exactly the opposite of what is intended.

As it happens, I have seen signs that some on the left are as embarrassed by the protests as any reasonable American would be. I saw an article about a leader of the Congressional (or perhaps, Senate) Black Caucus speaking of working with Trump, rather than perpetuating simple outright opposition based on "just because". For example, I can't believe that every woman with lefty-style feminist leanings cares to be associated with those who marched wearing pink hats depicting female genitalia. There may be tons of such people who are just too scared to speak out against their own, and suffer the same attacks as those on the right. The fascistic radical left tolerates no dissension in the ranks.

I have been a little out of things for the past few weeks, but it just seems logical that the more extreme the left seems to be that they will lose support from the center. I wouldn't be surprised if this behavior drives away some of the younger folks that the left assumes will naturally fall into their orbit.
