Remember when?

Remember when we were told that questioning the government was actually a very high form of patriotism?

What changed?

Oh, yeah! Hillary Clinton is a BIG supporter of "dissent"...when it's aimed at her political opponents. And that's how it works for lefties. It's their typical double-standard ways. Question them, however, and it's "extremism" or some other nefarious projection.

We should question government. WHY did Biden and the military opt for that drone strike? ARE drone strikes safe? ARE too many civilians being killed by our military policies?

WHY are some in the gov't considering shutting down government?

WHY are some in state gov't's able to get away with going against the Constitution in the area of abortion?

WE SHOULD question government. Always.

Is anyone saying we shouldn't? Who? Where?

BUT, we must keep in mind that mere questions don't indicate that the gov't has done something wrong. Trump and his idiot supporters, for instance, and their endless questioning of a perfectly legal election... Some questions are stupid... when they've been answered and people keep asking them as if they haven't been answered.

Dan, I suspected you'd say this. Therefore questioning the government regarding it's COVID response is something that we SHOULD be doing.

Biden opted for the drone strike for PR reasons. He needed to do something (anything) to respond to the bombings and a drone strike was the quick and easy answer. Unfortunately, it appears that he killed a bunch of children.

The safety of drone strikes depends of who's safety you are concerned with. Are they safer for US military personnel, absolutely. Are they safe for suspected terrorists, no. Are they safe for innocent bystanders, that depends on multiple factors. Intelligence, accuracy, size of the warhead, proximity to the target, the willingness of the targets to use "human shields". The problem is that POTUS primary responsibility should be to those US citizens under his command.

I guess that depends of what constitutes "too many", and whether the policies in question are important enough to justify civilian casualties. Unfortunately, the Afghanistan debacle probably wasn't worth the large number of civilian lives Biden chose to squander.

Possibly because shutting down the government over one more massive increase in the debt ceiling is a rational, yet extreme, response to an increasingly untenable financial policy.

I'm unaware of any state that is currently "going against the constitution". You do understand how our federal system of government works, don't you?

You're right that questions don't automatically indicate problems. What indicate problems is the lack of answers (or of good answers) to those questions. Trust the "experts/government" is wholly inadequate as an answer.

If COVID is this existential threat to the very existence of the US, and if testing/vaccination/masking/social distancing are effective means to control/end this threat, then why would the federal government specifically exempt large groups of people from those measures?

Why wouldn't Biden answer questions during a recent press conference? Why did the press room staff prevent questions from being asked?

Why hasn't Harris (who is "in charge" of the border crisis) not set foot anywhere near the border or done anything substantive to improve conditions on the border?

Asking this indicates we're dealing with someone who doesn't even pay attention to the lying leftist press he worships as noble heroes of the republic. From the lackeys in the leftist media, to those the lackeys are protecting, questioning the government liars about this disease has led to constant attacks and insults to those asking the questions...not a one of which are unworthy of honest response.

There was never any constitutional basis for Roe v Wade, and thus any opposition to that most heinous assault on the lives of the most innocent and vulnerable among us is in line with what the U.S. Constitution does say regarding everyone having the right to life.

There has never been any of the legitimate questions regarding the integrity of the election by Trump and his well informed and intelligent supporters adjudicated in courts. Thus, those questions remain, with the unAmerican opposition satisfied that there is little being done to procure those answers, forcing the honest, patriotic Americans to accept the most inept person as president, despite the very real concerns he was installed illegitimately.
