This is the sort of "logic" and legal acumen displayed by Justice Jackson, currently on the Supreme Court. Not particularly impressive. Noting that criminals are going to recidivate at the same rate regardless of the length of their sentence, and that the public will suffer the same amount of harm either way, seems idiotic. Further, her clear preference for allowing the criminals out earlier rather than serving their full sentence is troubling.

Which brings us to Amy Coney Barrett. One of the arguments for the success of Trump's first term was his SCOTUS nominees, and this argument might need to be revisited the longer Barrett is on the court. Obviously, she was part of the overturning of Roe (which was a good thing), but won't there be a point where her non conservative positions cancel out that one case? In all seriousness, if she votes to overturn or block much of Trump's second term agenda, is that what y'all really regard as a good Trump nomination?
