Subd. 8 says news media may not approach within six feet of a voter. § 211B.11, subd. 1 prohibits soliciting votes or displaying campaign materials inside polling places and, during early voting, within 100 feet of the room, as far as practicable. Omar is on the ballot for Congress. Ellison is on the ballot for Attorney General. Their presence as high-profile candidates, with media in tow, while voters are casting ballots, looks like exactly the lingering and electioneering these rules are written to prevent. Ordinary citizens don’t get to do this."
