Whoops, again.

I posted earlier about Harris' ridiculous plan to give $25k free money for down payment assistance to first time home buyers. Well it seems as though those reports might have been wrong.  It seems like the real plan is for first generation home buyers.  It's still a bad plan that will raise housing prices, but now it'll potentially benefit those who've chosen to enter the country illegally above US citizens.

How can this sort of spending be justified except for buying votes!?! If you can't afford a to buy a home on your own, why should taxpayers foot the bill for any part of it?!?!?

"First generation"??? As in, the first in any given family to attempt to buy rather than rent?

Glenn,

Of course it's an attempt to buy votes, what else could it be. The best part for Harris, is that her voters will believe that this actually happened whether it passes or not.

Art,

Yes, that's exactly what it means. If you are the first person in your family to buy a home, you get the $$. We've got some programs up here that are aimed at 1st gen buyers, but aren't straight up giveaways of 25k.

Apparently CA is going Harris one better and giving 0 down payment, No Doc mortgages to illegal aliens. Just like 2008, that'll tank the CA housing market at some point.
