The fact that so much of the "trans" agenda in the US consists of ignoring what is happening around the world, and failing to follow the data, makes me wonder if their stated agenda is something other than their real agenda.

I seem to recall a defender of this vile practice speaking of "doing no harm".
I suspect that harm is subjective and dependent on political positions.
