As recently as 2015 Bernie Freaking Sanders was all on no right wing talking points. That he's right and that he (and the rest of the left) abandoned this rational, reasonable poison seems insane in 2026. That the extension of this switch of ASPL/AWFL/DFL mouthpieces effectively defending allowing violent criminals to avoid deportation is something that no one could have predicted.

It has occurred to me that many on the left tries to pretend there was some party switch in the south around the Nixon years. As that's been roundly debunked many times by many scholarly people, it's more provable how often the left (Dems) have switched their positions as best serves their question to gain and maintain political power. This is just one more example of it.
Yeah, the party switch narrative has been dealt with, yet they still like to pretend that their history isn’t their history.
This switch, is well documented because we have ample evidence of their position then and their position now.
I suspect that the shift is related to their need for a victim/under class, votes, some level of white savior complex.
With the potential for abuse of the new AI tech, I have no doubt...as was suggested in the comments below that post...the Dems will insist the recordings of their past positions were AI generated to BS the public.
This is going to be a wholesale “get out of jail free” card for the ASPL. It’s going to be the smoke screen to divert attention from anything. Dan’s embraced this already.
