Irrelevant

This is kind of irrelevant, but I have found one feature of the new Blogger UI that I actually like.  The ability to collapse comments makes it much easier to scroll through a long thread, or to avoid reading comments by idiots.   Very helpful, although not being able to pull up the original post when writing a comment is kind of annoying.

Oh, and since the plight of the Bears has been a topic recently, let me say that they are not doing well at all and the Caleb Williams body language isn't a good look either.    Best of luck next year.

I've taken to simply opening a second window so I can have the actual post available while I submit comments. For those like Dan, who don't actually read the post studiously, it really doesn't matter if it can be opened while in the comments section.

And did you have to bring up the Bears? Really?? I mean, I'm still in mourning! How insensitive!

It's been said that President of Operations Warren has the green light to spend what's necessary to get the coach we need. This is a departure from Bears history, as great coaches were always available if they weren't such tightwads. There's also talk that the Lions' OC has an interest in coaching a team because of Williams. It's easy to think an assistant coach is HC material when working with a really successful team. That's how we got Nagy, who wasn't at all "all that". We'll see what happens, but if they can't protect Williams, who the HC is won't matter.

Three games remain, so the embarrassment is most likely not over.

I've also done the second window thing. Yet it's still frustrating that, on the whole, Blogger is less user friendly after the update than before. Despite the one thing I appreciate.

I know, I probably shouldn't have brought up the Bears. But I'd just seen a montage of pictures of Williams bad body language going back years and I couldn't resist.

Whatever they do, this is a critical coaching hire. If they hire a coach that can't do what is necessary to help Williams succeed, then the last couple of years will have been a total disaster.

The problem with hiring a coordinator as HC is that some coordinators are great at being coordinators, but horrible at HC. Having said that, the Lions OC could be a good hire, although I'm not sure about the Lions allowing a division rival to hire their OC. Obviously QB protection is huge in the NFL, and should be one priority for the Bears. Unfortunately, they probably want a coach first so they know which OL fit best.

Yes, you still have three weeks of misery left, then you get to see how many NFC North teams make the playoffs.
