Someone in the comments said during the trial, 8 men murdered their own families and "where are the headlines about them?" as if those of use who demand justice for Clancy's kids are less concerned about every similar case not getting the same national attention. And which of those 8 alleged murderers are being defended on an insanity defense?

1. No one, let alone hordes, is defending them.

2. The only murder cases that get coverage, are the ones that move the needle forward on the narrative. This one does support the “children are a burden“ narrative and that the children should be removed whenever they become too much of a burden.

3. We had a mass shooting here in Minneapolis, that won’t get national attention because the shooter doesn’t fit the approved demographic profile. Let alone the fact that the shooter got a permit to purchase with a criminal history that should have seen him denied.

4. The parallel story to this, is the story of the mother who ran into a burning house to save her children, and died while getting them out safely. That’s the story that should be covered alongside the Clancy story.
