News

There is a lot of stuff going on in the news over the last couple of days, and I don't have time to get to all of it right now, but I did want to mention a couple of things.

The Durham report is out, and it really doesn't help those on the left who peddled the various rumors about Trump during the 2016/2020 presidential campaigns.  It also doesn't make Hillary, the FBI, or P-BO look particularly good.  One take I've heard, which makes some sense, is as follows.   If 1/6, where a couple of hundred people wandered around the capitol mostly peacefully for a couple of hours, was a legitimate attempt to overturn an election then how can an attempt by the Clinton Campaign, the FBI, the P-BO administration, the DOJ, and the MSM not be considered an attempt to overturn an election?    Since when do we weaponize the FBI,DOJ, and the like against our political enemies.

Much has been made of the Marine who restrained a man on a subway in NY.  The marine has recently been charged with murder, and those who donated to his legal defense fund villianized.    Strangely enough, we've been told that they should have totally ignored the victim's erratic behavior, and threats of violence.  Even more strangely, we've seen what happens when subway passengers DO ignore erratic behavior and threats of violence.  Unfortunately that resulted in three innocent bystanders getting knife wounds.   I also can't help but wonder why the black and Hispanic guys who helped the Marine restrain the victim haven't been charged as accessories.   I suspect that we know, but can't say it out loud.

While the MN legislature has time for pressing issues like recreational weed legalization, they've ignored the promised rebate checks for overpayment of taxes, and the loophole that allowed a dangerous teenager free to kill.

A recent study suggests that emissions driven climate change isn't a big problem.

A study regarding trans women suggests the following.

90%+ retain their penises.

80%+ remain attracted to women.

Seems strange to suggest that these guys are 100% women.

Socialized healthcare is awesome, they said.  Canada's healthcare system is the way the US should operate, they said.

Unless, you are poor, homeless, or unworthy.

One more scientific study that casts doubt on the climate change narrative.

Finally, Revrend John K Amanschukwu attempted to read aloud from the book It's Perfectly Normal during a school board meeting in Asheville NC, it's actually hilarious listening to a school board member trying to the the Reverend to stop reading the book aloud, because it's inappropriate for a meeting in a room full of adults.   Strange that the book is available in public school libraries and is appropriate for children.

As Trump goes after DeSantis on his abortion restrictions, it's starting to look like Trump's new strategy is to move to the left of conservatives.   Personally, I have no problem with Trump running to the left of DeSantis and Haley.

The above refers to your last point. I don't know which of the three truly aligns with my position on the issue, as reflected in my post.

I also have some questions about Haley. Yet, that doesn't mitigate my point that Trump choosing to run to the left of De Santis and potentially Haley, is one more example of bad strategy.

In a sense I agree with Haley on a national ban at this time. The US population is clearly not in a position where a national abortion ban would be something that can be passed now. I think that we are limited by what is possible politically, and that it might be a better political strategy to push for something achievable that moves the ball down the field towards our ultimate goal. I'm not sure that recognizing the limits of what can reasonably be achieved in this political climate, makes her not a conservative.

But, I'm not sure that's important right now. It seems like the bigger question is would Haley be better than a second Biden term, a first Hillary term, a first Michelle Obama term or a first Harris term?

I would take a chance on Haley if she was the nominee, despite her weak response to the abortion question.

I would also say that your response regarding Haley works for Trump's position (I admit to not being aware of the specifics of his response to DeSantis).

But for all conservative candidates for elected office, I want to see a firm expression of the desire to outlaw the practice of abortion...at least as a starting point to whatever concessions they might make, which is ambiguous enough in itself. It's time people of good will get serious about doing good. Spinelessness is really beginning to piss me off.

Regarding the Neely situation, I have to say a few of things:

1. He is yet another case of where those tasked with dealing with such psychos dropped the ball and people were harmed as a result. Never underestimate the damage leftist ideology will cause.

2. We're apparently obliged to take our chances with psychos and do nothing to respond to their life-threatening behavior, pretending a cop will show up in the nick of time to resolve the situation in a manner which won't result in the slightest harm to the psycho.

3. The crowds which gathered to seek "justice" for Neely are just crowds of abject assholes and should be dispersed with tear gas or water hoses if necessary. Their opinions are bullshit and most likely devoid of any knowledge of the facts. Point at them and mock.

1. You're right except for one thing. It wasn't "he" it was they. The fact that the Soros funded DA is choosing to let the black and the Hispanic guys off because of their race, is vital to understanding this goat rope.

2. I would think that this alleged "right to self determination", would include the right to prevent oneself from being harassed, threatened, wounded, or killed while engaging in lawful behavior in a public space. If the state/city isn't going to protect people with those trained in the proper use of force, and deescalation techniques, then how can they prosecute a person for doing something they won't do?

3. They are simply sheep who uncritically follow whatever narrative they get fed, and show up to protest/loot/vandalize on command. It's kine teenagers who claim to highly their individually, then show up at an event looking and acting like everyone else there.

4. The folx who stand by these events, record them, and post them publicly are the worst ones of all. They're too cowardly to actually do anything, but too ungrateful for anyone who does step in to save their asses.

5. This practice of using law enforcement and the DA's office to inflict punishment on those perceived as political enemies, or to establish a different set of rules for one's political allies is vile and abhorrent.

Of course, because not all black lives matter equally, folx on the left ignore Areanah Preston shot and killed in cold blood.

Folks on the left are liars. It's what they do. They have a utopian fantasy for our nation and culture and it's based on childish whimsy as opposed to adult notions of character, honor, self-discipline (far more important to a functioning society than "self-determination") and other such virtues.
