Maybe the Democrat Narrative isn't Quite Right

"Democrat presidential candidate Dean Phillips went to a Trump rally and found out that Trump voters are thoughtful, kind, diverse, hospitable and generally awesome people who feel like no one is listening to them but Trump. He now says Dems are delisiomal."

Dean is a local congressman, and is pretty much a creature of the extremely liberal MN DFL party.   I'm not sure why he's actually running, but this video is an interesting counterpoint to the narrative that the rest of the DFL  is obsessively pushing.

Thanks for the link. I've heard this story and the dude sounds like one of those rarities among today's leftists...one who is thoughtful and honest in his observations. I wonder where he stands on the issues if he's as open to actually listening to Trump supporters and willing to acknowledge they aren't the loons and cretins those like Dan so desperately needs to believe is true about them. Refreshing to say the least.

He's pretty much a stock MN lib. He's not open to anything but the party line. This campaign gets him a couple of things. It elevates him from an obscure MN congressman who (to the best of my recollection) hasn't had a distinguished career, and it allows him to paint himself as some sort of rebel and counter-cultural voice in the DFL. It's nice to hear him acknowledge the reality that most Trump supporters are fairly normal people who are sick and tired of what the DFL has done, and who see Trump as the best option.

So even if this is posturing, he does still acknowledge certain realities, and that's laudable, even if that's as far as his honesty goes. I guess we gotta take what we can get from lefties.

I'm sure that what he said about Trump supporters accurately reflects what he experienced, and that he really believes that Biden and the rest are deranged for their attacks on the GOP.

It's also a good way for him to get a bit of traction despite the DFL's history of crushing upstarts in their rigged primary process.

Yeah..he'll have to be really careful about straying too far from the party line.

Oh, he'll stay glued to the party line because that's his history. Although he'd like people to see him as a rebel, because of takes like this one.
