So, after Biden pardoned Hunter he hopped on a plane and took a useless trip/vacation to Africa where he announced a billion dollars to be spent on housing for Africans.
Now I was pretty sure Biden was president of the USA, and that his first priority was to the citizens of the country he's president of.
So maybe I missed something, but I'm pretty sure that there are folks in Maui that don't have their homes rebuilt yet, folks in the southeast US who are living in tents and other temporary shelters, let alone homeless veterans living on the streets. But screw those US citizens, lets build houses in Africa.
Don't get me wrong, I have nothing against building houses in Africa. I wholeheartedly support private groups going to Africa and building houses with private money. I might even support the US doing so, after they take care of our citizens. But no, this is Brandon taking a last international jaunt to piss away money that the US taxpayer is going to have to pay interest on for decades while ignoring suffering right here at home.

Really! This is a most heinous abuse of power, right in line with all the other heinous abuses perpetrated by this disastrous administration. While progressive fake Christians do their damnedest to projection all sorts of evil upon Republicans, Trump, "magop", white conservative Christians, they willfully remain silent on yet another travesty of justice in favor of foreigners over our own.
I saw later that the intent is to offset some of China's attempts to buy influence in Africa. If this is the case, why wait until literally the last second of his term to do so? I can see that countering China's attempts to gain power in Africa might possibly be good policy, and something that could be discussed. But to do this, now and pretend like it's a big foreign policy win is ridiculous while Americans are suffering.
The crap optics aside, that reason might have some legitimacy. Assuming it does, we're still faced with the fact that the victims of disasters in both North Carolina and other southeastern stats hit by the hurricanes, and the victims of the Lahaina fires, remain snubbed by this same administration who could have turned all sorts of aid given to other nations (as well as illegals in this country) to our own so desperately in need. I would wager most of the aid these unfortunates have received (aid of any positive consequence) came from private donations and volunteerism.
As to waiting until literally the last second of his term to do so, Dems act for self-serving reasons, not reasons of righteousness, and none so blatantly as Biden & Co and the current Dem party. It's progressive character at its worst.

I agree that countering China's various infrastructure initiatives in Africa could be a legitimate initiative. The problem is that it's not part of a coherent, larger strategy to do so. It's merely flinging money at something as he walks out the door, while failing to do the same for Americans.
It's clearly more bullshit, as is the attempt to pass a last minute budget bill to cement wasteful spending through 2025.
I'm not a huge fan of foreign aid in general. But, much like Regan, if the US wanted to counter China by forcing them to spend more than they can afford I can understand that as a policy. The problem is that when we spend to counter China, we borrow from China, which seems to defeat the purpose.
