Truth and Narrative (H/T WK)

This is what happens when the Narrative becomes more important than the Truth.

What does the FBI data say?

https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.statista.com/chart/amp/32260/number-of-reported-hate-crime-incidents-in-the-us-targeting-the-lgbtqia--community/

Could the conservative religious zealot be making up data for petty partisan and religious bigotry reasons?

Or maybe the FBI is lying?

Hm. What COULD the explanation be?

Get real.

Just ask LGBTQ folks, they'll tell you.

I fail to see how this chart somehow falsifies the piece by WK. 2200 "crimes" (nice use of the vague, undefined term "crimes" with no explanation of the severity of those crimes) in a country of 330 million hardly seems to be the epidemic y'all want to paint it as. Further, as WK noted, this chart does not give any information about any other potential factors motivating these crimes. Are domestic violence crimes included in this? Is there some sort of magic in this chart that tells us that the alphabet status was the only or even primary motivator in these crimes?

I know that you spent seconds searching for a chart that supported your narrative, but it doesn't disprove the specifics in the WK piece.

It's possible, but given that he sourced his data, and referenced specific, verifiable cases, it seems unlikely. Of course, if he had, then it should be easy for you to prove. You haven't proven him wrong...

Given that the FBI has lied for years about having assets involved in the J6 protest, it's clear that the FBI is not above lying. It's also possible that the data that was reported to the FBI was inaccurate for any number of reasons or that the alphabet status of a victim wasn't related to the crime.

The explanation could be that y'all are overstating the causes of violence against the alphabet community (as we found with Matthew Shepard) fro social or political gain.

Because the alphabet folx would never lie, exaggerate, or support a narrative with less than overwhelming evidence.

Dan's plan is a good one: if you want to know the truth, ask the sinners.

I think you mean, "If you want to know the truth about sin."...

Although most of those of us who are sinners probably lie to ourselves and others about our sin. Stuff like "It's only a minor sin" and "YHWH won't really punish me for that.".

Well, Dan IS suggesting we seek the words of these particular sinners and to regard their opinion and version of events as gospel truth. Screw the actual data which doesn't support those opinions and versions. Thus I was only referring to the "truth" about these people.

I get it. One thing about those who are engaged in, and take their entire identity from their sin, they are certainly known for telling the truth.
