While it's sad that this woman dies without a will, and that the daughter  couldn't stay in the house after it was sold, but the pro-squatter movement is probably one of the greatest threats to private property in the US.  In what meaningful sense does the woman who paid for and received title to the property actually own it, if she can't control who lives there? Further, in what meaningful sense does she own the property if her squatter can veto any changes in the house? Not to mention rent.

Given that literally every single appliance sold in the US is Energy Star approved, that HE furnaces are everywhere, that every purveyor of these items delivers and installs, why exactly did anyone give Abrams billions of dollars to do for people what they can do for themselves.
