It's an upside down world.
Very much so. I firmly believe that this newer construct which keeps children "caged" to the point that we consider 18 year olds as "children" and make excuses for their behavior is part of the problem. Teaching children how to navigate the perilous journey from their home to the pond in their gated community should be encouraged, not punished. Miles on bikes, 5 lane busy streets, hours away from home, seems like a pretty good foundation for adulthood.
