The Injustice System

This clip seems to be from a local news broadcast from  WAVE TV in Louisville where we see a black judge cutting the sentence of a black gentleman who robbed, kidnapped, sexually abused, and sodomized and women he'd never met.   The reason given by the judge for this generous reduction of his sentence was essentially that he was black.  What exactly in KY law allows this sort of thing?

I could be wrong, but basing decisions based on someones race or ethnicity seems like racism to me.

I also could be wrong, but is anyone concerned about the message that this sends to the victim?

Sounds like something worthy of a protest.  Given the statistics, the likelihood that at least one other woman will suffer a similar fate seems high.   If that happens during the period of the original sentence, the judge needs to be held accountable.  It also sounds like he had a long history of crime.

This sounds like the excuse we often hear for immigrants who rape and kidnap.  He "didn't know it was wrong.".

When I read this story earlier today I immediately thought "LEFTIST judge," because the article did not say the race of the judge. SO, once I learned that my thought was immediately RACIST LEFTIST judge. The victim has essentially been told, "tough shXX"-- you deserved it.
