I may have posted this before, but the level of stupidity combined with the desire to take offense in this video is astounding.

Hmmm. I don't know this person and I don't know if she's plays a musical instrument or not. I've never thought of singers as "musicians" per se, but they are indeed among those regarded as musicians. I think the black chick regards musicians as only those who play instruments.
And it is funny.
Given that she is clear that she "makes music", I don't think that she knows that a musician is one who "makes music". She literally seems to think that a "musician" does magic.
As to whether or not vocalists are musicians, I'd have to say that they are, but I agree that I usually draw a distinction between a vocalist and instrumentalist. It's two different parts of conveying music. They both take different skills and talents.

I looked up the word and it lists both those who play instruments, vocalists, composers and one or two others (going from memory here). But I think the common understanding is simply those who play instruments. When asked, "Are the musicians here, yet?" The implication is the orchestra or band. A small thing, but it makes the chicks objections funny.
