Either colonialism/conquest is always bad, or it's not.   That the left ignores Islamic conquest, colonialism, and slavery, in favor of a narrative where these vices are only perpetrated by white Europeans, is disappointing, but not surprising.   I posted on this elsewhere that the left looks at Muslim countries and sees vast numbers of people in shitty living conditions and immidiately categorizes them as "oppressed" without regard to the actual history.
