When over 50% of a "mainstream" political party say that it is acceptable to kill the sitting president, and the minority stays silent, then that party should lose whatever legitimacy they might have had.

I'm sure the silent percentage abhors the violence, "because of course they do!".
Do you have a similar polling of right-wingers on the subject of killing presidents? I'm guessing the results would be starkly different.
The silent percentage would say that they abhor the violence, yet probably stayed silent while cities burned or were taken over during 2020.
