Back in the day there was a joke that went like this.
“A conservative is a liberal who’s been mugged.”
While there is likely some Truth in that still, I’m left to ponder something else. I suspect that there are some liberals who’d revel in getting mugged, and offer to give their life’s savings to them
What happens to a free market conservative when their health insurance company denies an effective, safer, lower cost treatment and offers no alternative to extended periods of significant pain? Or I can pay a couple thousand per year to get treatment my insurance should be covering.
The liberal will advocate for socialized medicine, which would mean months of wait time, more red tape, and regular offers to indulge in medically assisted homocide.
The choices suck.
