The rank hypocrisy around the casting of the Oddssey as opposed to Moana is absolutely insane. Both are fiction, yet both are solidly rooted in real cultures and peoples. The notion that it's bad to swap one, but not the other blows my mind.
Having said that, had they done something like O Brother did and adapted the story out of the ancient Greek context, this would be a different story.
