For some reason, I had never encountered the second verse of this Hymn before yesterday. What an wonderful reassurance of our standing in Christ.
When peace like a river, attendeth my wayWhen sorrows like sea billows rollWhatever my lot, thou hast taught me to sayIt is well, it is well, with my soul
It is wellWith my soulIt is well, it is well with my soul
Though Satan should buffet,
though trials should comeLet this blest assurance controlThat Christ has regarded my helpless estateAnd hath shed His own blood for my soul
It is well (it is well)With my soul (with my soul)It is well, it is well with my soul
My sin, oh, the bliss of this glorious thought! My sin, not in part but the wholeIs nailed to the cross, and I bear it no morePraise the Lord, praise the Lord, o my soul!
It is well (it is well)With my soul (with my soul)It is well, it is well with my soul
It is well (it is well)With my soul (with my soul)It is well, it is well with my soul.
