Revere

There was a tragic shooting in NYC yesterday (note, NYC has pretty strict gun control laws), and apparently the shooter was mad at the NFL because he'd suffered TBI in high school.  I'm not sure I follow the logic, and it seems possible that the TBI affected his ability to process things logically.   But, no matter what those details end up being, it is still a tragedy for all involved.

Yet, that's not really the point of this post.   CNN (revered practitioner of "real journalism)  was quick to pull the trigger (because pushing the narrative is important) on identifying the shooter as "white".   Of course pictures quickly point out the reality.  That the MSM is so quick to assume that any "mass shooter" is automatically a white, conservative, man when (starting with Pulse) we've seen that other demographics are increasingly engaging in these horrific acts.

Here's a crazy notion.  Go back to how things were done back in the day, and double or triple verify things before you go on the air with bullshit.   Then, when mistakes happen, you can loudly and clearly apologize.

CNN is looking for this Polar bear.

I heard about this story just about an hour ago, and the dude apparently shot himself in the chest with the request that his brain be harvested for study, as the ailment from which he claimed to suffer evidently can't be studied in a live subject, but must be removed after death.

They were "quick to pull the trigger" to point out that the shooter was white... which he was... so... you mean they quickly identified his race correctly?

So, you're praising CNN for accurate reporting? I don't follow.

I've literally seen the pictures of the shooter.

It's the ONLY time leftist media is "quick to pull the trigger" on attaching a race to a criminal. It somehow takes forever to determine the race, religion, ideology of a shooter if the the shooter isn't white.

This has happened frequently enough that it seems to be safe to refer to it as a trend. The media is quick to jump on the official narrative, regardless of the truth. And then when the truth comes out, they correct themselves with as little notice as possible. The New York Times recently got busted for posting a picture of a child in Gaza, with some sort of horrible disease, and pretending that his condition was the result of starvation. When it was pointed out that his mother looked healthy, and not starving, and that the child had been used in other pictures and identified as having this disease. The New York Times had the back pedal. What was interesting, is that they posted the original story on their primary Twitter page which has hundreds of thousands if not millions of followers, and they posted the retraction on a secondary Twitter page that has about 40,000 followers. While people like Dan don’t want to admit this, there are some narratives that are so pervasive that the media simply goes along with them, regardless of the facts.
