Shootings

We've had several high profile shootings over the past couple of weeks, and they've had one thing in common.   That they don't fit the media/left wing narrative.

The shooter at Osteen's church was a trans, illegal immigrant, who was antisemitic, and the story disappeared after a couple of days once those facts became known.

The shooters from the Chiefs parade, were black, and they held off on charges for days and still haven't released the names of the two "juveniles".  Of course this hasn't stopped the release of juveniles names inn other cases, just this one.  Now we know that the gun was stolen, and that the shootings started with a bullshit argument.  Mayor Lucas, who recently cut the budget of the KCPD by over 40 million seems more upset that someone called these thugs, thugs, than about anything else.

Once we found out the the Burnsville MN cop killer was black and shouldn't have been able to have a gun, the story also disappeared.

This is a trend that we're seeing.  That when a shooter fits the narrative (white, right wing) that the story gets tons of play, but when they don't the story just melts away.

Deputy Greg McCowan, was shot to death by a violent criminal, and it'll never be a big story because black guy shoots white cop doesn't fit the narrative either.

Audry Hale the "trans" shooter left a manifesto which somehow was never published by the MSM, and this case also disappeared from the MSM once it was official that it didn't fit the narrative.

Oct 2022, Ja'Von Taylor was verbally abusive to a store clerk.  Off duty firefighter Anthony Santi intervened to protect the clerk.  Taylor responded aggressively and pulled a gun on Santi (FYI Taylor was a felon).  During the fight where Santi was trying to prevent himself from being killed or wounded, Taylor's "girlfriend" grabbed the gun and killed Santi.   The "girlfriend" wasn't charged and Taylor was only charged with the crime of possessing a firearm.    I was under the impression that if a homicide occurred during the commission of a felony, that there would automatically be a murder/manslaughter charge.  I guess there's a two tiered justice system for cities run by democrats.

Shooter not identified as "trans." I can see no actual news saying she was an undocumented immigrant. Antisemitism is associated (at least in the US) primarily with right wing, white nationalist extremist groups, not liberal ideology.

You might need to check the "facts" that you think are "known."

The pertinent points and actual facts in the Osteen case is that this was a person with severe mental health problems with a legally purchased weapon.

Getting information from unreliable sources is one sure way to get fake news.

That's as far as I got in this post. Spreading false claims is a non-starter.

Carry on.

Houston Police Commander Chris Hassig said Moreno sometimes used both male and female aliases, but he said investigators determined through interviews and past police reports that Moreno identified as female. Authorities said investigators were looking into a dispute involving Moreno and the family of Moreno’s ex-husband.

Police said Moreno legally purchased in December the AR-15 style rifle that was used in the shooting. Moreno was also carrying a .22-caliber rifle.

Investigators also found antisemitic writings by the shooter, and Hassig noted Moreno’s rifle had a “Palestine” sticker on the buttstock. He described Moreno as a “lone wolf” who was not acting as any part of a larger group.

I'd have thought that the AP would be considered by a journalism expert like yourself to be a reasonably accurate source.

I guess you could quibble as to whether or not identifying one's self as a woman, is "trans", but it's not a huge stretch.

If I made a mistake based on bad reporting regarding the immigration status, I'll happily correct it.

My point, however, stands. The shooter was not a conservative, angry, white, male, doesn't fit the narrative, and therefore the story disappears quickly.

It should also be noted that Moreno had known mental health issues, which is another facet of most shootings that is downplayed, it's much easier to advocate for a simplistic ban of guns on all people, than to have a discussion about mental health.

I recently saw a clip from Bill Maher's show in which Ann Coulter stated the reality that only white shooters are identified immediately. Though the quality of the clip looked a bit muddy, I believe it was a recent episode of his show.

I will take this opportunity to reiterate what I believe is an essential, if not the first order of business, for reducing "gun violence". Instead of gun laws which deprive the law-abiding, and definitely instead of any registry or reporting of gun related purchases, begin with a registry of felons and the insane which would be accessible to all licensed gun dealers. Only those who are the list should be refused any gun related item from any store which sells them. If you're not on the list, the dealer can sell you whatever he likes according to his own standards and criteria.

From there, there can be discussions about dealing with failures to report criminal records or psychological records which would deny criminals and nutjobs the ability to acquire a weapon from anywhere but the black market.

I saw that as well.

The obvious answer to reducing gun crime is to enforce the laws already on the books, and punish criminals appropriately.
