Let's see if we can get some clarity on this case.  An illegal alien who's BAC was 3 times the legal limit gets house arrest  after killing two innocent people.   He's got multiple drunk driving arrests, in addition to being in the country illegally, yet somehow he's still on the road.

Historically labor unions have blindly supported the DFL, yet somehow things are changing.  One more crack in the DFL stranglehold on labor union votes, to go along with the decreasing numbers of black and Hispanic votes that they've had locked up.

Omar Fateh says, in the interview above, that his top priority as mayor is protecting illegal aliens from Trump.   Has this idiot ever been to Minneapolis?   The freaking streets have potholes bigger than Port au Prince, unsolved shootings/murders, massive fraud, and shitty schools but hey let's focus on illegal aliens.

This fine, upstanding gentleman has no idea why it's a problem to try to convert and marry a 14 year old girl.   Why would any government intentionally invite people into their country that see no problem in being sexually attracted to or simply raping young girls?   Now that it's obvious that these wonderful, peaceful, people have no respect for British law, why not deport them all?  Would it not be the minimum expectation that immigrants legal or not, obey the laws of the country they immigrate to?   Is not raping children too much to ask of an immigrant population?

Jasmine Crockett is either a complete and total  imbecile, or she is so committed to staying in power that she is willing to say anything to keep her base happy.

There are two issues here in this state:

1. It is unconscionable that movement on resolving the breathalyzer issue wasn't of the greatest importance and a top priority, not only for the justice for victims, but safety for potential victims. And if one, like this illegal, continues to drive irresponsibly because his previous two DUI cases are on hold, death of innocent people is more likely, as was made clear in this case.

2. It is murky what the policy is in this state regarding illegals. There should only be one: if an illegal comes to the attention of anyone in state government, the illegal should be detained for ICE and put in their charge for deportation. End of story.

---Unions may finally have come to realize they can't bilk union members of dues if there are no members because Democrats have destroyed the economy.

---Like many lefty mayors and governors, to interfere with federal law enforcement is ilegal. It is either obstruction, aiding and abetting criminal behavior or both. I really want to see them arrested, as well as any members of municipal governments/state legislators who voted to enact sanctuary city/state policies. Then they should be stripped of their positions for acting acting in direct conflict with their oaths of office.

---Just one of the many reasons we can't just let in people from countries where this is common. It's their custom based on their religion. They aren't likely to simply give it up, but they might lie that they have. Not worth risking our own.

---Evidently, Crockett can't decide if she's from the 'hood or not.

But it is stupidity if she believes such crap as she spewed in the video, and so are any she allegedly speaks to all the time who believe the GOP is a racist party. She's stupid if she believes it, but she's a freakin' Trabue-level liar for ignoring the truth or doing nothing to find out what the truth is. And the irony is that she is racist for writing off at least a third of the population as racist, and apparently even the black conservatives are white racists, too. She's pandering to stupid people or pandering with a stupid perspective. Either way...totally stupid.

1. It seems as though the Breathalyzer issue shouldn't detract from the fact that the guy had multiple DUI arrests before this incident. Of course he'll drive irresponsibly because people without a stake in a society have no reason to be as responsible as those who do. What's interesting is that for him to get justice, he should be convicted and imprisoned. Yet that's almost a win for him because he's still in the US. Whatever happens he should be deported immediately after finishing his sentence or serve his time in a prison in his country of origin.

2. If that means that he should have been deported at his first DUI arrest, I agree. If that means he should be deported to freedom instead of prison, I'm conflicted.

Yeah, I think unions have realized that having jobs is better than not having jobs, and that the DFL has thrown them under the bus in favor of the grens.

I agree, the MPLS city council members who were interfering with the drug/human trafficking bust up here should have gotten hammered, but didn't/won't. I hope their opponents in future elections point out their pro drug/human trafficking stance as a means to beat them.

Crockett, like AOC is cosplaying for political power.

Her being ignorant of the fact that the KKK was spawned from the DFL, and that the DFL voted against every civil rights legislation in the'60s is par for the course with these idiots. That she's racist is simply assumed at this point.

1. The problem...if I'm understanding the situation properly...is if there is some issue putting his arrest in question...which is the case regarding the breathalyzer issue...he's guilty of nothing. The articles didn't mention the reason he was pulled over in the first two DUI cases. If states put their decision totally on the results of such a test, and the machine is suspected of giving false results, then they can't justly convict him of anything and as such, despite the opinion of the arresting officer, the scum committed no crime. Then, this third incident resulted in deaths, but it, by law would mean it was a first violation. I don't like it. You don't like it. The survivors of the woman and child he killed don't like it. But all they can legally do is treat this tragedy as an isolated event without regard to previous arrests which are now in legal limbo.

My question to the authorities of that state is why they cannot proceed with DUI arrests based on the results of other sobriety tests. Is the word of every arresting officer crap now?

Then, of course, there's the issue of this scum's immigration status. He has none because he's illegal. Why was he not immediately deported the first time he was arrested. Is he supposed to be allowed to roam free because the DUI arrest was sketchy on the basis of the suspect breathalyzer machine? That's freakin' neither here nor there! As soon as his illegal status was confirmed, or even suspected, this putz should have been referred to ICE immediately where he'd be properly scrutinized and then sent packing.

As to this current situation where two people died, he should be tried on what they know about the "accident" without the breathalyzer results, imprison him for whatever the law allows, and then deported (I don't trust his home country will punish him for crimes committed here). I don't like our tax dollars going to house ANYONE convicted of a crime, but it comes with being a government by consent, and justice ain't free. And just as we have "terrorism" enhancements to pack on more years in the hoosegow, so too should we have "illegal alien" enhancements to make the offender really reconsider his decision to enter illegally, and actually want to leave when his sentence is served.

1. as far as the arrest for killing people, I don't think there's any problem. The problem, as I understand it, is that this scum was driving in the first place. He's an illegal alien which should deny him a driver's license to begin with. Beyond that he has a history of DUI arrests. As for the previous arrests we don't know enough to be sure what exactly happened. As I understand it, whatever the question being decided as far as his previous arrests has put those cases in limbo. If he's found guilty of those then it obviously makes this situation worse. Having said that, I would argue that the evidence of his previous arrests should be admissible at trial as evidence of a pattern of previous behavior.

I agree that the evidence of field sobriety tests/BAC levels should be plenty to try him, although whatever the potential breathalyzer issue is could raise reasonable doubt.

As far as the rest, that's kind of the point. Liberal policies that allowed him entrance, protected him from deportation, and gave him a driver's license, are directly responsible for these deaths, regardless of the other DUI.

1. But arrests don't matter. Convictions do. The arrest might be erroneous and to have it come up in an unrelated case taints the proceedings. Again, I don't like, but that's how justice is supposed to work. It's like alleged sexual misbehavior by Trump. He was not convicted of any of them, but his detractors insist on bringing up that he's been accused 25 times. It doesn't matter how many times one is accused. What matters is whether or not accused actually committed the crime. That isn't determined by arrest or accusation, but by trials where evidence determines guilt.

But the fact that he's an illegal with a license is another story. I may be wrong, but there are blue states which will issue DLs to illegals. They shouldn't but if a state issues it, nothing can be done to keep him from driving. So that's two major problems with the worse of the two being that state didn't have the guy deported as soon as his status was exposed. And if they do not ask, then that's criminal in my opinion.

As to the field sobriety tests, I was referring to walking straight lines, reciting the alphabet, counting to 20 while standing on one leg, or jumping up and down and juggling cats as was required of Steve Martin in "The Man With Two Brains".

1. In theory, I agree with you. In this case the problem is that the actions that led to those arrests have never (to my knowledge) been adjudicated in court. The problem is that they have evidence of a pattern of behavior, yet (for reasons not having to do with actual guilt, innocence, or evidence) that evidence can't be used as it should. I see the following options.

1. Try him for this incident without the DUI evidenec, which should result in a conviction then see how the DUI changes play out.

2. Argue that the DUI evidence shows a pattern of behavior and is admissible as such. Hopefully there is BAC evidence that could be admissible as well.

3. Wait to try him until the DUI charges have been adjudicated if possible.

I'm aware of what field sobriety tests are. Field sobriety tests are used for a reason. Because they work well enough to establish probable cause for more accurate testing.

The reality is that this guy is a drunk who'll keep driving drunk and do this again if given the opportunity.
