Of course, if Trump adds a peace deal in the Ukraine/Russia war to the rest of his peace deals, I'll say nice things about that. I won't predict that it'll get him into heaven.
If nothing else he'd have to repent and ask forgiveness for his sins, but (if I remember correctly) he doesn't think he has any to be forgiven for. Which also sounds kind of like Dan.
Unless some kid, or some person with an intellect no higher than that of a kid, wonders aloud if one can get to heaven in such a way, it's really not worthy of rebuke, because it does not seem to have been said in seriousness. But, it's your blog.
Stupid or not, joking or not, I don't feel the need to focus on every clumsy utterance of a guy not known for his rhetorical skills. I also don't feel the need to wonder about the details behind his "stupid" comments, if there are any worth wonderment in the first place.
If I felt that he was doing any real harm by his many goofy statements, I'd comment on them as they come up. But I've never heard anything which compels my doing so. That's because they're harmless.
Whether it was a joke or not, is unclear. Although it'll be spun as if it was regardless. That it was stupid seems much more clear.
That you don't seem interested in the fact that the president of the US regularly makes stupid comments is certainly a choice you are free to make. I'll point out that your choice might be better served by sitting these threads out, instead of trying to make excuses for Trump's stupid comments.
That you, a much more rabid Trump supporter than others, see no reason to comment on his missteps is not surprising. That you've subjectively determined that they cause no harm, likewise.
Yet, some of us hope that POTUS would minimize stupid remarks. This could be the one, singular, reason why I would never run for president. I couldn't stop myself from making sarcastic, stupid, inappropriate comments.
That Trump and Dan seem to agree on the "good works=salvation" theory is kind of hilarious though. If stopping wars is a "good" thing and if doing "good" things makes you a "good" person, then we would have to conclude that Trump is a "good" person by Dan's definition.

C'mon. Really? Are you posting this for the humor of it?
What humor? If he's serious, then he sounds foolish. If it's a joke, what better way to mobilize Christians to correct him.
It's one more stupid thing that he's said, probably without much thought, that would be better had he kept silent.
Although this does fit Dan's "do good deeds=go to heaven" hunch.
It is kind of humorous that you have a problem with pointing out the stupid/negative/weird stuff Trump does.

Why yes, it is my blog. Which means that I can post stupid crap that Trump says if I choose to.
What's strange is that you don't see, willing to acknowledge that this was a stupid comment, whether he was joking or not.
Part of the problem could be that Trump's "faith advisor" is a false teacher who might not be giving him the best advice as regards Christianity.
Of course, this does align with Dan's "good works=good person=go to heaven" philosophy.
