Sloppy Wet Kiss

Not since the "sloppy wet kiss" controversy of 2005, has there been a song that caused a similar amount of uproar in the worship music community.   Cory Asbury wrote Reckless Love and people went nuts.  I'll be honest, I wasn't a fan.  But I did realize that maybe, just maybe, it wasn't as bad as it could be.  Because from the perspective of a non believer, I can see how YHWH sending His one and only Son to die for our sins, and the image of YHWH leaving the 99 sheep to search for the 1 that was lost could absolutely seem like reckless acts.  Still not a fan.

But, what if there was one change (much like the "sloppy wet kiss" change to "unforeseen") what if, instead of

"The overwhelming, never ending reckless love of God"

it was

"The overwhelming, never ending, boundless love of God"?

It's the exact same message, without implying that YHWH is reckless.

What if?

I'm not suggesting that there aren't other problematic areas of the song. Merely suggesting that one word change, would have tamped down the controversy significantly and would have used more Biblical language.

Insightful commentary as usual.
