"The House Ethics Committee rebuked Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D., N.Y.) for simultaneously claiming her longtime partner, Riley Roberts, is and isn’t her "spouse.""
Rules for thee, but not for me. This isn't a totally partisan issue, but this sort of corruption needs to be dealt with harshly.

While I think transparency on the part of politicians is justly expected and should be willingly provided, I only believe that refers to one's political dealings and anything from one's personal life which can be criminal as supported by actual evidence. Don't know where this AOC thing falls, but it seems as if it's not in line with my position as I've just expressed it.
Well, she's used the fluidity of her status to get things only available to the spouses of politicians for starters.
I'd argue that this sort of thing in the private life is an issue in public life. It's like saying that the recent spate of public officials committing mortgage fraud isn't a big deal because it's in their private life.
Regardless, ones actions speak to one's character, and this is one more example of AOC demonstrating her low character.
