Letitia James, the prosecutor who charged and tried Trump for defrauding nobody, is on a roll.

She's suing America's largest beef producer for failing to meet 2024 Net Zero goals. Technically she's suing them because they don't have a "plan" she approves of, but still, unless there is a law that requires a "plan" to be approved by someone, by a certain date. this is one more absurd abuse of power.

We are also seeing reports on James campaign finances having problems.

Meanwhile the NY governor assures businesses that they won't be the target of a lawsuit as long as they "follow the law". Which is strange because Trump wasn't convicted of breaking any laws in the civil fraud suit.

Not directly related to the Trump case, but the Trump case isn't going to help stop this trend.

We'll see how this goes, but given NY's current policy of handing out free money to illegal aliens, I can't imagine that they want to lose taxpaying businesses at this point.
I'm not an expert in commercial real estate in NYC, but it seems to me that if Trump was to sell off his real estate holdings in NYC all at once to pay the ridiculous judgement, that the NYC real estate market (commercial) might take a major hit. Especially since commercial real estate was the real estate sector hardest hit by the COVID protocols.

What do you think the odds are that Letitia James' sex and color played a significant role in her getting her gig? Could that have weighed more than her hate for Trump being the major message of her campaign?
And just like the absence of any victims in her lawfare abuses against Trump, who are the victims of this beef producer for failing to meet superfluous goals to fight a fictitious "existential threat"?
Not surprised someone with such a low intellect and low character would have ignore campaign financing laws or was too stupidly arrogant to have even studied them.

It's a wonder we're not seeing actual lines of tractor trailers moving businesses clogging roads and bridges out of NY. It's amazing how clearly devoid of intelligence Democrats are. It appears all their "brain trust" is devoted to stealing elections and bribing voters instead of studying the potential harm their policies consistently provoke. It's not like one needs a doctorate to accurately predict these things.
I recently posted info regarding witness slips being solicited by Illinois Family Institute...a great organization who does much to point out harm done by leftists and why what they do is actually harmful. In any case, I've signed such slips on a number of issues over the years, and even seem to recall having done it since I've moved out of that s**thole state, using my former address for the purpose. As it's really close to two years since my move, I''m not sure I'll be doing that anymore, despite my concern for family and friends who will be impacted by Dem stupidity. Given the Dem majority in that state, it was refreshing to see that among the half dozen or more items for which IFI recommended support (there was another 4-6 they against which they urged opposition), most were Dem proposals. They seemed obvious, and that's the refreshing part...that what's obviously good for the state is actually being proposed by a Dem. I wonder if they knew IFI was supporting their proposals, would they back away from them?
I suspect that James race and sex played a role in her hiring. But at this point, her actions have gone beyond and rational legal theory. The campaign finance irregularities are just extra. It does seem like we're seeing an increased number of James like public officials who are abusing their campaign funds or the budget of their office.
I do think we're seeing the beginnings of an exodus out of NY. Between increased crime, massive spending on illegal aliens, high taxes, cost of living, and the like, I'm surprised it hasn't gone faster.
I would love to see someone with the expertise to do it run some models to determine a realistic conclusion of the effect on NY if Trump just sold everything and moved out. It seems like he owns enough to move the commercial real estate market to some degree. Probably down, because I can't imagine there is enough ready capitol out there to pay market or over market for Trump's holdings.
I agree. His impact on NY as a realtor is great enough to cause problems if a selloff takes place. It's just a matter of how much of an impact. Equally interesting is how much of an impact will it have to make given all the other stupid things Dems have done which have negatively impacted the city (and state) already.
It's like any other limited commodity. If too much gets dumped on the market at once, it'll cause prices to drop. The question then becomes does Trump own enough real estate in NY to have that effect. If he doesn't, then one would naturally wonder if the basis for the civil suit and the judgement is accurate.
If I was Trump, I'd give sell everything I owned in NYC, move all of my corporate headquarters to FL and move on.
Oh, absolutely! It's good that people and businesses flee from those states who have treated them badly and it should continue until the remaining people get the idea that their suffering is the result of policies implemented by politicians they put into office.
