It's not that hard to ignore the mentally ill.

'The phrase “luxury beliefs” was coined by the brilliant

to sum up the more preposterous ideas that progressives can afford to hold — “Defund the police!” “Open borders!” “Men can become women!” — because they are largely sheltered from the consequences when such ideas are put into practice.'"

'Accusing Israel of genocide and recognising a non-existent state are the luxury beliefs of western foreign policy, elicited in response to misleading photographs on front pages and fake fatality statistics, and utterly divorced from strategic reality.'

'One can criticise the way Israel has waged this war. One can note the impossibility of simultaneously rescuing the hostages and destroying Hamas. One can lament the extreme difficulty of defeating an enemy that lurks in tunnels, habitually uses civilians for cover and steals much of the aid sent into Gaza. But one cannot call this nasty war genocide.'

If it is genocide you want to see, I recommend you pay a visit to the Russian-occupied areas of Ukraine. There I can easily demonstrate that the Russian government intends to eradicate a distinct Ukrainian identity. And all five methods of genocide are being deployed against the Ukrainian people, including “forcibly transferring children of the group to another group”.'

I wish those people who spend a significant part of each day posting and reposting clickbait about the plight of the Palestinians in Gaza could spare a thought for the real genocide that is going on in eastern Europe right now.'

A defining feature of luxuries is that they are expensive. The same is true of luxury beliefs. The belief that Israel is perpetrating genocide in Gaza, like the belief that a Palestinian state can be wished into existence by western leaders, is a Hermès handbag of an idea.'

'Expend energy on such luxury beliefs and you will not notice the help you are giving the axis of authoritarians to bring about the defeat of the West. Nor will you notice the help they are giving you — through the social media channels they know so well how to manipulate — to be the useful idiot you are.'

This is what you get when you substitute an ever changing Narrative for Truth.

"It isnt racist to ask if it's wise to continue importing huge numbers of ppl from societies where adult men "dont know" that rape is illegal. What does that say about their culture? Not all cultures are equal, not every culture is compatible with Western values. We need to be able to openly discuss these uncomfortable facts without ppl shutting down the conversation with bad faith accusations of racism. How do we expect to be able to enact good policy if we cannot openly discuss the issues?"

"The saddest part is trans-identified people still won’t admit that they caused this. They’ll blame facism, the evil TERFs, nazis, Jk Rowling, Trump, etc., but the truth is that the general public slowly realizing how insane trans ideology is was directly caused by the behavior of trans-identified people themselves. If they had cut the bullshit with women’s sports, self-ID, the erasure of the definition of “woman”, encouraging the chemical castration of minors, etc., most of us never would’ve even got so invested in this topic. 99% of the gender critical/sex realist people I know used to be ok with using preferred pronouns and even used to believe there were some “true trans” people. But the increasingly insane behavior of trans activists and gender ideologues over the last 5-10 years caused us to look more into all of this and realize that it’s ALL crazy."

I just have to say that over the past several weeks or so, you've posted numerous pieces describing the uniquely barbaric behavior of muslims and often those pieces and your comments following seem to belie your opposition to my insisting that our first response to any from those countries seeking entry to ours must be a distinct "no" without some truly compelling evidence the applicants for entry actually reject certain parts of their religious teachings in a manner we can feel confident reflects one who is no threat to us in any way. You're entries seem to bolster my position more than I could defend it myself.

Whatever makes you happy.

My point remains. The first step is to get illegal immigration to as close to zero as possible. The second step is to better vet immigrants, and increase the penalties for violating the restrictions they agree to upon entry. The third is to adopt a no tolerance policy for any crimes more significant than an traffic ticket. The fourth is immediate deportation for any immigrant convicted of a felony.

I suspect that the above would significantly lower the crime rates in Europe.

Finally, it seems like most of the rape problem stems from immigrants from two countries, Pakistan and Afghanistan.

I get the attraction of the easy solution, I'm not convinced easy is always best.

I strangely enough believe in the concept of personal responsibility.

But it's OK, we don't have to agree.

It's you second step which is where the problems comes in. How do we do that effectively with a people who lie as a matter of religious devotion? I don't see how we can and I don't see that as the sole arbiter of such I would care to risk the safety of my people in hopes that a particular population known for so much which is anathema to my faith and the values of my country might not be lying to me.

Personal responsibility is essential. That's got nothing to do with determining if we should allow anyone in the country.

Yes, properly vetting immigrants is a difficult job regardless of where they come from. I'm not sure that something being difficult is reason not to try.

Of course, the third step deals with the few who get through the second step.

The problem is that under your "ban them all" construct, it completely removes personal responsibility from the equation. You are essentially punishing or restricting people for the actions of others, not for their own actions.
